Iâm getting a lot of DMâs lately asking how I edit my photos and which apps and what filters I use, so I thought Iâd make a small post telling you guys about my editing process. I donât mind the DMâs though, and I always try to reply đ . First off, I do some editing in Photoshop on my Mac. If youâre not familiar with Photoshop as a tool, this step is not really necessary, but I see the difference in my own photos, and would therefore never forego this step. I basically edit exposure, temperature, and then I add suface blur, sharpen the edges and resize my images. Then I add them to Dropbox and wait for them to transfer into the Dropbox app on my phone. . On my phone, I always open my photos in Afterlight first. Here I add clarity, and tweak the selected saturation bars, usually toning down the red and blue. . Then I open my images in VSCO, and all I do in this app is to add filter A4. A4 is one of VSCOâs most beautiful filters, and I feel like itâs hard to go wrong with it. I always tone it down just a little, to about +10 (itâs set on +12 as a standard). . Then, finally, I open Snapseed. And hereâs where the magic happens, haha. I use the Grainy Film filters, but almost always tone down the grain to either 0 or max 10. As for the filter I use, itâs currently A01. I used to use X04 (I practially swore to it, I used to love it so, so much), BUT A01 gives the same color effect as X04, without damaging the quality of the photo (sharpness and clarity stays put). I find that X04 kind of adds a faded effect to photos, which Iâm not a fan of... it makes the images flat and dull, and I want mine to be bright and pop out of the screen. . Then I add a final touch of structure and sharpness, and voila! You get the result pictured above. . Does anyone edit the same way as me? Is there an app or filter you absolutely love to use?
