Review on Mega Glimmora?
I barely hear anyone talk about Mega Glimmora, which is a shame as I think it's pretty awesome. You have to keep in mind that Glimmora is not a plant; it's crystalized poison, and it's based around copper(II) sulfate (which is also blue). On a plant, having a mega where the petals disconnect and float around it would be odd; on Glimmora, it just feels natural in the sense that it doesn't feel natural at all. It's odd and sort of alien and that really works for Glimmora.
There's a bunch of other stuff I like about the design as well. First, the extremely long "nose" (head") is funny. Secondly, it, like many other mega evolutions, references its pre-evo by having a very Glimmet-like body tucked away behind it. I also like that you can see the inner petals here; they've always been there but usually aren't visible, so it's nice to see them on full display.
GameFreak also didn't just make the petals float and call it a day; the entire body is a bit different, with there now being a lot more inner petals (the original only had four cyan petals and six purple petals, whereas the mega has six cyan petals and like twelve purple petals—see above as a reference). Its entire body has also flipped, so the head is now at what used to be the back of the flower. Also, its attack animations are very fluid and do a lot with the rotating petals. Really cool stuff all around.
