More from the "#guitars I should have bought when I had the chance (and when they were a lot cheaper than now)" files! . Call me crazy, but I am obsessed with the 1990s #Gibson #Nighthawk model. This beautiful example was spotted back in 2019 at Tundra Music near #Toronto . It seems like it would be the perfect guitar in terms of versatility. I love the flame top and burst on this one as well as the 345/175 style split parallelogram inlays. I like that it is lighter weight than a #LesPaul. I like that it's a string through hardtail rather than a Tuna Magic bridge and stop tailpiece like most modern, non budget, Gibbys. I like the mix of hum and mini hum pickups (I guess it's technically a firebird pickup, because it has no pole pieces showing?). I think the coils are splitable to which is an added bonus (but don't quote me on that! I had an Epiphone reissue that was solitaire so I just assume the protoype was as well?) . Probably the only thing that bugs me about it is that slanted bridge pickup. Does anyone know what the rationale behind that was?
