So I'm scrolling TikTok right, and suddenly I see this edit of Cthulhu with the song behind it. I'm like, this song is kind of funny; it's neat. I want to know the context behind it, so I click on the song, open up the song, and I find out this song was originally about Donald Trump!!?!!?!! I am not kidding, I am not joking, and from what I can tell, it is not a parody. A bunch of people on Tiktok thought it was a parody or that it was a song from the boys or something, but no, it isn't!!!!

It's called The Chosen One by Natasha Owens. These people are satirising themselves.

I do, however, have some good news because TikTok every once in a while can be a truly beautiful place, and I can tell you that a majority of the videos underneath that song are either people going WTF or, much more importantly, people using it for edits. Some of the characters the song was used for include, but are not limited to, Cthulhu, Mothman, Anakin Skywalker, and Palpatine.

However, my absolute favourite of these was a couple of edits I saw of Homelander from The Boys because, for obvious reasons, it fit very well.

I am not American, nor am I the first to say this, but we truly live in a bad timeline; however, on the bright side, we did get some excellent comedy out of it. (it doesn't make up for it but at least it's something)

Deep inside I feel the same! Logically, I understand that since forest water is so nice, a lot of little bacteria and parasites can also enjoy it and reproduce in it, and then if it's not filtered out, it's possible to ingest them with water, and that's not great for your stomach.

I looked it up now, and apparently it's pretty rare for people to actually get infected with it, but it does happen sometimes. The parasite is called 'Giardia', and basically nothing happens immediately after you drink the stream water, but few weeks later you end up with an infection. Sometimes the infection can clear out on its own in a few weeks, but other times it can require antibiotics and cause long-term gut problems.

It doesn't happen to every person who drinks the stream water, because it's a matter of luck, but a small chance exists that you could possibly ingest it.

You can read a study about it here, it's spread worldwide so picking and choosing streams doesn't help either, it's in the pools and ponds as well. It's always good to know this! So you can make informed choices, and if you happen to get an infection few weeks later, at least you know what's up, how it's called, and look up your options. Also Giardia is neutralized by boiling, so if stream water is your only option, you can make it safe by boiling it first. Or, if you have extra resources, iodine pills can also take care of it.
