Jeff the Killer Headcannons
Content warnings:
- explicitly mentioned self harm, both in a cannon typical "origin story" sense and in a suicidal context
- discussions of depression, explicitly noted / implied mental illnesses
- chronic pain discussions
- cannon typical violence
- Jeff as his own warning
• Basically, Jeff's whole story follows the same basic tracks as usual
• Randy, the hospital, killing his family, etc, and trying to kill Liu (unknowingly failing)
• The main divergence here is that Jeff isn't fully human anymore by the time he gets to the hospital
How does that work?
• Not all Pastas / Creeps are the same, essence wise
• Some are completely human, like Natalie, Jane, etc
• Others... less so.
• Jeff is one of the Creeps that is only human on a very surface level, but his essence is something that's been warped in a supernatural manner
• He went from being a fairly normal kid with a bad temper to a kid who is being warped into something darker, not just by his circumstances but by something unseen lurking in the shadows of the situation
• I like to think that in the Creepypasta Universe sometimes people are just twisted into something Other, withoit any clear reason behind why or why them
• whether it's by influence of something like the Operator or Slenderman (different entities btw), Zalgo, etc or just by a general supernatural influence that cannot be clearly identified
• Jeff is the last one BTW but towards later parts of life he does catch the attention of one of the Tall Men...
• Either way:
• Jeff should've been badly burnt and essentially stuck in a medically induced coma after being lit on fire
• His body should be at least 70% burned, probably more, but
• Instead, he comes away from it looking pale like a dead man, skin so lifeless looking that the nurses at one point mistake him for having died when he breathes too still
• (No one knows this, but Jeff actually DID die some time between getting to the hospital and being lit on fire,)
• (It's just that the supernatural forces that were manipulating him into becoming what he was transformed him instead of allowing him to actually die, keeping him "alive" despite that)
• Instead of being viewed as a miracle after only a few months of hospital recovery, Jeff's strange recovery is recognized for what it is: something unnatural and impossible
• The nurses are superstitious and try to avoid him, his family is politely horrified and confused, and all involved refuse to say any of this out loud
• Even as his behavior goes from disturbed to near deranged
• Then everything just falls apart further after that point
Looks:
• To be blunt, Jeff looks like he's dead.
• His skin isn't paper white, but it's a sickly pale color with yellowish and blue undertones like someone who has been dead for at least an hour or so
● he has to be careful if he ever tries to go out in public while being incognito because even if his face is mostly covered, he still looks entirely abnormal in terms of his skin tone
• The smile Jeff cut into his face actually does go from ear to ear, but it's a bit jagged and uneven. The corners of it are torn and in places it goes from neater initial lines to sharp pivots
• It does actually cut through the muscle on the furthest edges of his grin to the point where he can stick his fingers into those parts
● but outside of that it's a mix of deep surface wounds that dip down deeper through the muscle in places the further it gets from the lips
● :P
• Jeff's eyes used to be a muddy blue, but they became a frosty blue after the fire which again was inexplicable and unnerving to look at
• He didn't burn his eyelids off in this version, he cut off the top lids and the burned the edges of it to seal them shut
• The only reason he isn't blind as a result of doing this is because he isn't fully human
• It's really an intention based thing: intentional self mutilation with the purpose of further "transformation" into Something Other becomes permanent
• It's affixed to Jeff's identity and that's why it remains
• But other wounds will heal, unless its something like a cut off arm- he will need to sew the limb back on to get it back again, but it'll heal if he does. He can't regrow it tho.
Height:
• He's around 5'4, he's pretty intimidating which makes him seem taller than he actually is.
• If you're not intimidated by him it becomes a bit funny in perspective
Hair:
• Jeff didn't have much hair after the fire at first (it also used to be brown), but it started growing back at a pretty rapid pace after the incident
• He started out looking like a charred body with no hair and serious burns all over
• and then the burns inexplicably vanished, his hair started growing out from under the bandages until it was at a pixie-ish length after the first month in the hospital
● kept growing out further after that
• And when it did, it grew out in a dull black that completely absorbs light and has a slightly "singed" texture to it, very rough and damaged
• Jeff hasn't cut it since so now it's VERY long. Down to his chest in some places but he has split ends
• The ends are more "fried" than the rest of it tho
● won't cut it because he's actually very sentimental about it, viewing it as a part of his "transformation"
● he also doesn't want to cut it because it feels like fully letting go of the past
Other
• Always has chipped nails, dirt and blood crusted under them.
• Jeff is a grown ass man atp, he doesn't fit into his original white hoodie anymore
● he does still have it tho!!
• instead of wearing it he just mainly wears whatever he can scrap together off of his victim's closets
• Does have a sorta grungy punk vibe, despite this. Mainly wears hooded jackets, jeans
• does steal rings here and there, but usually just a lot of basic bands of varying styles and wears multiple onto his fingers
• Can and will use them as knuckle dusters in a pinch, or just because
• Being that he's technically a reanimated corpse, he doesn't actually feel much pain even when wounded and his ability to feel sensations is kinda off
• So when Jeff's actually fighting with someone, its entirely possible that can very much get stabbed in the stomach and walk it off Michael style
• It's pretty horrifying to watch
• But other times he can also get lightly touched on the shoulder and crumple like a wet paper bag
• It's not completely uniform
• more like having various limbs or parts of his body fall asleep randomly and or having chronic pain flare ups
• Jeff can normally feel some degree of pain or another and being able to feel pressure / constant tingling but his nerves are still very much fried and so they send a lot of mixed signals
• Sometimes he's in constant full body pain, a phantom experience that reflects what his burns initially felt like
• Other times he can only feel pressure in places and normal sensation in others
• Very mixed bag overall
Voice
• Jeff always sounds like he's been yelling a lot, his voice is always hoarse and cracks at the ends.
• it does NOT help that he's a perpetual smoker too
• He is also not a good singer at all BUT if he was he might sound really interesting
Personality
• Intense highs and lows
• I do write him as having a few different mental disorders but I'm not going to explicitly name them
• If ykyk
There are mainly two verisons of Jeff that most people will interact with
1. Quiet but in a threatening way
2. Very loud and chaotic (not always in a fun way)
• Jeff doesn't like thinking about anything but the present and can be extremely impulsive, which usually ends well for no one involved
• He's hard to predict and he swings back and forth between mainly these two moods, at least on the surface
• Is easily mistaken as being emotionally shallow, which isn't entirely a misread of him
• He usually does stick to focusing on one or more of his emotional responses in a given moment, usually defaulting to anger or spiteful behavior
• He's an asshole more times than not and will be cruel as a deflection in the same way that he's cruel for fun
• but he's also more complicated outside of this
• Only a few people see different sides of him outside of this
• He is both extremely self-aggrandizing and extremely insecure, with both traits feeding into the other
• It's a really bad coping mechanism
• A lot of it has to do with the way he was recieved by those around him during and after the hospital situation,
• Jeff was already in a pretty fragile mental state by that point, being manipulated by supernatural forces that were twisting his mind into something more volatile and violent, his recent injuries and newly apparent chronic pain / nerve issues...
• The response to him while he was in that state broke him
• He needed validation and comfort, and instead got reactions that made him feel rejected by those he most needed it from
• (Not to blame them, it wasn't exactly a normal situation)
---> Jeff compensated with internally over emphasizing statements like "I'm beautiful," etc, and the underlying insecurities caused him to attack anyone whose responses (seemingly or actually) challenged this
• When he does have his moments of being less... influenced by the forces that turned him into what he currently is,
• he gets very depressed and quiet ( in a "he won't get out of bed for a few weeks" way)
• He mainly regrets killing Liu (it takes a long time for him to find out that he didn't)
• This, plus the loss of any normal life he could've had - viewing himself as a freak who has mutilated himself for nothing
• He does self harm when he's like this, but the scars rarely remain after
• Which, to him, feels like a bigger reason to cut.
• BEN is kinda the only person he allows to be around him in these moments.
• They're both assholes but not about this - tho BEN can get really frustrated with Jeff during these moments and start being less empathetic
• They do fight occasionally over it but that's actually motivating for Jeff in a sense and can get him out of bed for a bit
• Which sometimes causes BEN to intentionally rile him up for that reason
Further character explanation:
• Outside of all this he's also a rat bastard who WILL pull malicious and or dickish pranks on people
• Usually with Toby or BEN
• They are a terror trio
• Usual victims include: random victims, Tim and or Masky, Hoodie, Jane,
• They once attempted to pull pranks on EJ and VERY QUICKLY learned why no one messes with the resident head medic
How violent is he?:
• He is always extremely violent towards both victims and enemies alike
• The question is not "is he extremely violent?" it's "what kind of violence is he going to inflict?"
• Now, should you be more scared of Jeff if he's attacking you while quiet or while loud and angry?
• Can't say for sure. Again, he's going to be extremely violent either way.
• He's more precise and direct when he's quiet, so his attacks are more controlled and intentional
• Jeff rarely takes his time with anything, being patient and methodical about the pain he inflicts means it's going to be a lot more prolonged in some ways
• He's more deliberate - so instead of allowing something like an accidental stab in the wrong place to prematurely end his victim, he'll very deliberately cut only in places he's learned won't easily kill someone
• But when he's loud and angry - or worse, excited,
• His violence is messier, lots of random slashes, just a lot of senselessness to it
• A lot of his victim's aren't recognizable by the end, with or without the smiling facial mutilation he inflicts as his signature
