I’ve been thinking about ghosts and the laws of physics. We know they can become solid and interact with objects. We never see them perform feats of telekinesis or super strength, which implies they are limited to what they can do with forms that resemble their living bodies. So, does that mean physical objects interact with them in the way they would with a living body of similar mass?
I mean, for example, if a car rushed toward a ghost who didn’t turn incorporeal fast enough, would it hit them? I don’t think the ghost can be hurt except by iron, but would the car sustain damage?
I can imagine Edwin deciding to test these hypotheses and calmly record observations in his notebook. Meanwhile, Charles completely freaks out.
Charles: You got hit by a car!!
Edwin: I am perfectly fine, I assure you.
Charles: Please stop it, mate. You’re going to give me a heart attack.
Edwin: Charles, you cannot have a heart attack.
Charles: Really don’t want to test that theory.
Edwin: It’s for science!
Charles: I’m not letting my best friend get hit by a car for science!
My head cannons for how ghosts, halfas and miraculous interact
Ghosts
Ghosts don’t trigger the miraculous, if they hold an inactive one it doesn’t summon the kwami, if they put it on and say the words it won’t transform them. The kwami can see and interact with them, but the miraculous itself won’t recognise them.
Halfas
Halfas in their ghost forms interact with the miraculous the same as a normal ghost does. However in their human form they can summon the kwami and transform, however when transformed with the miraculous it suppresses their ghost side, making it so they don’t give off an ecto-signature and have no or very limited (just floating invis and intangible for short times maybe) and is also uncomfortable. Not painful but uncomfortable like being squished next to someone on a bus seat. They also can’t go ghost while transformed
Kwami
Kwami in the ghost zone are the same size but look like their true forms. Their powers are also a lot stronger and they don’t need a holder to channel here cause the infinite realms is where they are from.
Liminals
Liminals, including halfas, don’t have to worry about compatibility with miraculous, the ectoplasm in their systems will protect them from side effects of incompatibility
Feel free to add more or suggest other things about this in the comments or reblogs. These head cannons will be what I work with in my dp x mlb crossover ideas
Headcannon: ghosts with remains tend to become attached to them. That's why you don't mess with dead bodies/ashes. However, if the body is destroyed or lost, the ghost attaches themselves to a personal object. The term 'lay them to rest' is quite literal, ghosts are protective of their remains (body or object) and become aggressive when their remains are messed with/disrespected. If the remains are disturbed for too long, the ghost becomes a poltergeist. The only way to fix this is to restore the remains or destroy the remains so the ghost can attach to another object.
A lot of cases for the boys are like this, a client can't get to their Object so the boys find it before the client goes poltergeist.
Edwin's remains are long gone after 73 years, so his Object is this notebook. He had it when he was alive, and it somehow survived Hell. No one except Charles can touch his notebook, and even then, Charles rarely holds it.
Charles, however, has a corpse and a grave. The two of them stayed long enough to see Charles body get prepared and lowered in the ground, but left shortly after. (Edwin would later tell Charles that when someone touched his body/coffin, bruises and water would flicker on him)
Neither of the dead boys have thought about Charles grave in a while now, out of sight out of mind, until Charles starts getting 'sick'.
A bone deep feeling of wrong settles in Charles. Like his skin is too tight, or his organs are too big, just an unwavering feeling of 'something is wrong with my body'. It washes over Charles so quickly that he doesn't get the chance to suppress the full body shudder.
The others notice this and try to ask what's wrong, but Charles is not responding, just breathing hard and holding himself. Crystal touches Charles and sees flashes of a grave yard, a coffin, and a rotted corpse that looks like her friend.
With Crystal recovering from that, Charles takes his chance and runs to the mirror and leaves.
When Crystal reveals what she saw, Edwin says that someone must be messing with Charles remains and explains the whole 'ghosts and their remains' thing. Edwin uses the mirror to get to Charles first and find out what is happening while Niko and Crystal get there the long way (it's England, so it probably just takes an extra hour or 2)
The only reason for digging up a dead kid's grave would be graveyard space issues, cops re-opening his case, or one of Charles murders digging it up for some reason. Either way, Edwin finds Charles hovering over his corpse (after 30ish years, there would only be skeletal remains).
He looks worse than when he was dying. He looks like he is starting to decay as well. Edwin tries to reach Charles by talking to him. It almost works until whoever dug up Charles comes into the room and starts trying to mess with the body. Charles lashes out and scratches the person.
Edwin, Crystal, and Niko cone up with a plan to convince the person that they are haunted and that the girls can help get rid of the ghost (not really a lie).
Idk how, but they managed to put Charles body back to rest. Maybe they somehow managed to drag his corpse back to his grave? Or they just burn the place down, effectively cremating him or something like that.
I've been thinking about this for a while, so I might make a fic out of this, but idk, I haven't written a fic before...
shoutout to the consistency of not seeing Edwin's reflection here

Ghost Rules
Okay it makes sense that Charles and Edwin can’t feel, smell or taste anything of the mortal realm but wouldńt it make sense that they can feel, smell & taste each other (👀) as both of them are not part of the mortal realm anymore? And if its earth itself, then they should be able to feel each other when they travel to another plane? They talked in episode 6 about the greenhouse case and the pain they felt and all.. so in my opinion it makes totally sense that supernatural beings can feel each other but supernatural and mortal beings can’t. Also Edwin closed his eyes at the contact of TCK´s nose on his cheek, as if feeling it. And for me it wouldn’t make sense Edwin being so affected by him and his sensual approach if he wouldn’t „feel“ it.
Genuine question, but how is Alberta’s voice picked up on the Alexa, but not on Mark’s phone?
It could be because Mark’s phone is an older model, but he’s suggested to be on the wealthier side, so you’d think he’d have a newer phone. Or Maybe Sam has an older model?? It could also just be that because it has to go through multiple devices, whereas the Alexa is just one device.
Ghost rules are so interesting :D

Hi from the Besotted Brats!
Are there any ghost rules not in the show? If so, can you tell us what they are?
What aspect of being a ghost would be most difficult for you personally?
Do you think ghosts can blush? (Since we know they can cry.)
