I don’t know what inspired that particular photo shoot, if it was his idea or the CW’s, since it happened shortly before The Flash premiered its first season (not a year ago; he was prob just doing a throwback to it to promote the photographer). It doesn’t make sense to me why it was Danielle and not Candice either (aside from racist crap). As far as Grant not doing one with Candice ever or anyone else? Grant is not very pro-active in promoting himself. More or less he only does photo shoots if he feels they’re absolutely necessary. These last couple shots he did w/ Tyler was the first he’d done in YEARS - minus the s3 crossover shoot w/ SA & MB. But even if that wasn’t an issue, I’m pretty sure he still wouldn’t do one w/ Candice given how messy & suspicious their relationship is at times. Grant’s body language gives him away time and again, and that’s all a photo shoot is. I will be shocked if they ever do a shoot together. But I will be equally surprised if he ever does one with DP again. Barry’s love life had different directions it could go in back when the show was starting, even if he never saw Caitlin that way. Now the audience has to be informed via dialogue they’re supposedly bffs b/c they rarely have scenes together to prove that, so it would feel out of place if they did a shoot together to promote the show again. Only Candice would make sense, or the whole team, or the Big Bad of the season. Not the actors to two characters who hardly interact solely.

uh…ok, so…

I think b/c being w/ CP would’ve been too complicated and had too many immediate negative consequences (i.e. Pressure from the media + hate specifically towards Candice from everyone who was already not a fan of Iris). Grant doesn’t really know how to function w/o being in a relationship (even if it’s just the appearance of one), so instead of waiting for the appropriate time to pursue Candice, he sought out a new significant other as fast as he could. Once publicly involved w/ her though, that also proved difficult to even gradually get out of while not looking horrible, so he pushed the relationship forward and embraced how good it looked on insta instead of slowly letting it deteriorate on all sides, and now he’s stuck w/ what he’s got. Idk if what he had w/ LA was ever all that real. If it was in the beginning, there’s still no denying she was a rebound, so…

Only Grant knows what’s going on in his own head.

I actually made a comment similar to this in an ask to TT. I love our boy, truly, but…

Alright, this is the third ask I’ve gotten today about Grant’s relationship/mindset regarding it in a negative light. I may not be a fan of it, but I’ve said my piece about it and would like to wrap up the topic for today if that’s alright.

Um…I don’t think she is. I think she’s smart enough not to be in a relationship when she herself is so messy w/ GG, but that doesn’t necessarily mean she’s just waiting in the wings for him to call off his engagement and come running to her. I wouldn’t be surprised if part of the reason they didn’t get together was because they don’t want the quality of their characters to suffer onscreen if they were to break up. That’s always a risk you take when co-stars date. And w/ westallen being THE ship of the show and being as electric as they are while the co-stars simply hardcore crush on each other but don’t date, you don’t want to tamper w/ that w/ a relationship gone wrong. But that aside, by all appearances, Grant is an engaged man who will be married before the year is out. Whether that falls through or not, Candice would be a fool to wait until it does. Grant has a lot of maturing to do too before he’d be able to sustain a relationship and be worthy of her anyway imo (as much as I love him). I think the reason Candice isn’t in a relationship (that we know of) is b/c either A) she hasn’t found anyone she wants to be in a relationship with, B) she doesn’t want to be in a relationship right now, &/or C) she’s well aware - unlike Grant - of how infatuated she is w/ her co-star and that until she gets over that (which she doesn’t seem to be trying too hard to do atm) she won’t be able to be all in w/ ANYONE she dates. She’s protecting herself and any prospective s.o. by not pursuing an outside relationship, if that’s the case.
