I know they never invite women on the show because itâs their way of protecting um but I wish they would just stick up for them instead... Also I hate that they never review animated films. Not all of them are junk.
Ehhhhh I gotta push back on this one a little. I donât think we really know why they donât have women on the show, they never talk about that kind of thing. I think thatâs a valid reason why they wouldnât, since Iâm sure they know women on youtube have a uniquely difficult time with awful fans, of which they have plenty. But we donât know for sure. And Iâm not sure what you mean by wishing theyâd stick up for women? Do you mean just talking about sexism more?
As for animated films, theyâve addressed that on pre-rec a few times. From what I remember Jay and Jack saying, itâs not that they think animated films are junk; itâs just not their thing. The things they know about, like the nuts and bolts of filming and editing live action, are not the same in animation, and they donât feel they have a good enough grasp on how to talk about it in a way that would be worth listening to. If I could remember the pre-rec stream, Iâd link it, but Iâve listened to so many of those streams I couldnât tell you which it was. If anyone can remember, please send that link over.
