I think the real-life friendship dynamics between the three of them is really interesting. It's obvious that they're all close friends and have been in each other's lives for a long time. Mike and Rich have been friends the longest and you can tell that Mike is very dependent on Rich's friendship, but also it seems Mike and Jay are the ones that actually hang out the most outside of work. They're always talking about movie night and they go out to eat together with guests and go to shows together. And Karin, Rich's partner, has said that she thinks of Jay as "Rich's coworker." I find it all fascinating.
