Question:
What is everyone's "average" run time for a mile?
I know I'm not great yet and I'm very out of shape. But it's super depressing to see the AVERAGE mile for a woman my age is 10 minutes. Like, shit. When I was at my fittest (which arguably still wasn't that fit) I was still at like 13 minutes. Now I'm at about 15:30. I try and force myself to make 4 miles in an hour. And it's HARD. I do it. But I almost throw up when I'm done. Trying to imagine 6 miles in an hour? That seems impossible for the average. For a woman in shape. Totally doable. And it is a goal I hope to reach. But, I dunno. How far back am I starting? Am I more out of shape then I realized? Are other 30 year old woman just smoking it down the street? I migjt not feel like such a damn loser if I knew that other people were starting from the same place I am. Cuz all I see right now? Is an out of shape loser who is so far behind the class that I need to run 2x as fast as what I am now just to be AVERAGE. Man, I run at 4.2 speed. What the fuck is average? You guys must be beasts. Sigh. I guess all I can do is my best. Even when my best feels like nothing.
