In Breath of the Wild, Gesane guards the front entrance to Rito Village.

He presumably has a spear and not a bow since this is a position for defending against people on the ground rather than in the skies.

Saying that they're the Rito of Lake Totori implies there's more Rito somewhere else. Maybe that's where Kass went in between games.

He'll explain more about the town, as he may be one one the first Rito the player encounters.

After we defeat Vah Medoh, he has a quest for us.

This unlocks the Face the Frost Talus side quest.

In Tears of the Kingdom, there's a lot more happening in Rito Village.

Gesane has abandoned his post at the front of the village to help gather food. He can first be found in Hebra South Summit Cave. If you continue through the intended route to the Wind Temple, you'll find him.

Gesane is concerned about Tulin.

He'll also appear after we get Tulin his bow back.

After we stop the blizzard, Gesane will return to his post.

Except the bridge he patrols has collapsed, and we need to help fix it.

Once we retrieve Karson and the bridge gets fixed, we complete the Rito Rope Bridge quest.

Then he'll patrol as normal.
