Great leaders raise the aspirations of their followers; they make people more motivated, confident, energetic and enthusiastic. Professor Jim Collins notes in his classic book āGood to Greatā theory that good is the enemy of great. We cannot dream of great things if we are contented with our good ones. This time around as participant during this wonderful entrepreneurial summit - GES2015Kenya officially opened by His excellency USA President I would be glad if considered for possible funding for technological innovation. My dream is to become great innovator across the globe. I have posted some of my innovations to #GES2015Kenya for consideration. I pray that God will guide us to all those around us globally who are looking for starters like me to partner with during and after this Nairobi summit. As participants, we must now minister to the needs as they arise. As a result, we will be surprised to discover that most often the greatest needs others like are to be positively recognized for their efforts. Personally I do salute President Barack Obamaās initiative towards positively recognizing theĀ āJua Kaliā sector in Kenya for empowerment. We must therefore from now design our future if we ought to be the role model, dynamic community. We must effectively plan processes under which we define our entrepreneurial priorities and objectives. As well we must establish long-term programs for effective actions aimed at attaining realistic goals. God has given us gifts we share in common - life, time, environment and creation. These gifts must be well managed for us to be called good stewards of Godās abundance resources. Thanks in advance. GEORGE OMONDI OGUTU MAKāANYANGO - 0721 208 263, Migori Kenya.Ā
We are looking forward to a situation where GES2015Kenya shall be regarded as an event, a happening or wonderful experience that draws people within and globally as a source of stability, integration and fellowship. Then we may watch as miraculous opportunities come to us, our families and everyone else in need for Kingdom impact! We must not therefore limit ourselves our ability in this life to bring change for prosperity. Promoting world view change within this summit means targeting local, regional as well as global societies. It also means looking for individual and institution levels. I started a small group called Vineyard Technology as a faith based group within the Anglican Church - Migori Kenya, just to exploit technological potential towards user-led innovation for the benefit of our community. Despite limited access to capital for purchasing standard production equipment and materials, I still have the vision to proceed. Factors that affect under-utilization of resources include technical, management skills, ability to innovate or adapt designs and links at the market. During and after the Summit, I look forward to expanding my financial base through partnership, networking and collaboration with global top entrepreneurs.
Small decentralized production workshops popularly known in Kenya as āJua Kaliā workshops provide a responsive service tailored to the specific community requirements. This proves to be a critical element in development of diverse, dynamic small and micro-enterprise sector. The need to develop sound engineering concepts for practical applications in small-scale ventures has remained a challenge in our society. Ā
