Bergman Trivia: Syster syster
Before Bibi Andersson made her first appearance in a Bergman film (Smiles of a Summer Night) her older sister Gerd had already appeared in two.
Gerd Andersson studied at the Royal Swedish Ballet School (she joined the company in 1948 and became ballerina in 1958), and her first role for Bergman was as a ballerina in Summer Interlude. Shortly after she appeared in Waiting Women, this time with a slightly bigger role.
Her third and final appearance in a Bergman film was as one of the mysterious masked "Japanese women" in Isak Jacobi's house.
