Hellooooo!! We are excited to announce the return of APH Austria Week, happening this year from October 20th - 26th!
We were thrilled with the response last year, and are so excited to see what everyone creates for the event this year! We will be announcing prompts soon, but in the meantime, don't forget to check out the event rules (text version under the cut):
+ Content must focus on APH Austria, but other ships and relationships are allowed.
+ This event does not dictate what headcanons you have about country relations and familial bonds. It is open to all ships, headcanons, canon AUs, and personal AUs, we only ask that you allow space for others’ interpretations. Any ship/character bashing might be grounds for having your content removed from the event.
+ Explicit content is allowed as long as it respects Tumblr guidelines.
+ Please tag potential triggers and appropriate content warnings.
+ All types of fanwork (except for AI) are allowed and encouraged! Fanart, fanfiction, cosplay, headcanons, edits, playlists, etc. Have fun with it!
+ Indicate which prompt you’re creating for in the post and mention @hetaliaaustriaweek and use the tag #hetaliaaustriaweek.
+ You are not required to participate every day of the event. Create as much or as little as you want! Creating multiple entries for the same day is allowed and encouraged.
+ Each day has two prompts: a historical period and a word prompt; you do not need to combine them for your piece, you can just pick one.
+ Late submissions will still be accepted! If we miss your submission, please feel free to reach out directly.
+ Please be respectful of the real historical events, people, and nations that Hetalia is based on. probably the biggest thing holding me back from this ship is that i always feel like roderich still sees ludwig as a child, and a child that he helped raise on top of that, HOWEVER i can totally see the dynamic! bonus points for tension between gilbert and ludwig regarding roderich.
i do think that ludwig has a bit of a freudian complex when it comes to roderich, tho. ludwig doesn’t have the same long history with roderich that the other german bros do, and i can see ludwig being somewhat enamoured/enthralled with him, especially as he’s being raised by gilbert after unification. i think ludwig would have actually preferred for austria to have been part of germany, but he’s torn on it for what that might mean for gilbert and roderich’s relationship. roderich isn’t particularly aware of ludwig’s convoluted feelings about him. i actually have a lot of thoughts on this so let me know if y’all want elaboration!!

i think they’re cute! i don’t have super strong feelings about this ship, but they’re literally a fact for me. i actually wish i spent some time with this ship because i feel like there are a lot of directions it can go in, but they’re basically soulmates (affectionate) imho. probably one of the healthier relationships in this universe. and i did not put “bickering married couple” because i do not believe they bicker 😤
