hidden mist - or "kirigakure". led by the mizukage. land of water. lots of water style users. as its name implies, it is SUPER misty- but another name it was once known by? "the bloody mist". this is because the exam for genin was killing all your classmates! akatsuki is rumoured to have started here. seven ninja swordsmen ail from here (eg. zabuza and kisame), as well as haku, kimimaro, and mei!!

hidden cloud - or "kumogakure". led by the raikage. land of lightning. this village is set in the mountains, so it quite literally is in the clouds. since it's in the land of lightning, a lot of characters from here have lightning style chakra natures :O they were trying to collect other village kekkei genkai (bloodline traits etc, example the hyuga byakugan) at one point, so they're kinda hostile w the leaf for a bit. characters from here include a, killer b, c, karui, omoi, and darui!!

hidden leaf - or "konohagakure". led by the hokage. land of fire. so lot of fire style natures! this is where most of our main story takes place!! this village is very familiar with forest terrain, and has the hokage rock ofc with all the hokages carved into it :D well known for the huuge number of prestigious clans that reside here, like the uchiha, hyuga, nara, etc. characters from here... most of the main cast HKDGHGG

hidden stone - or "iwagakure". led by the tsuchikage. land of earth, lots of earth style users, you know the drill by now. this place's architecture is cool bc it literally is kind of.. carved from the surrounding rocks and stuff? all its buildings and all that? this place is interesting bc even in times of peace, the tsuchikage did a lot of things behind the other villages back, such as hire the akatsuki many times. characters from here include deidara, kurotsuchi, and onoki.

hidden sand - or "sunagakure". led by the kazekage. land of wind. this place is in the desert, yep :] the village itself is set in this sort of.. valley, i guess? surrounded by cliffs and stuff. this place has a LOT of "puppet style" shinobi, which is basically.. using strings of chakra to control puppets, which are also designed in the village. they had a whole section for it and everything. notable characters who come from this village include gaara, kankuro, temari, sasori, and chiyo :]
