Ok but sad hurt Genma who thinks Kakashi can't possibky love Gai as much as Gai loves him. Genma thinking he's stuck in the worst love triangle ever created only to realize when they're 18 that Kakashi does actually have those feelings for Gai but he's trying desperatly to ignore them because he thinks he doesn't deserve that.

Genma being the only one to see the way Kalashi looks at Gai. The way his eyes are always on Gai in a crowded room, following Gai when they've said goodbye and he's walking away. The way his eyes light up when he hears Gai calling out to him, even as he acts like it's no big deal.

And genma realizes that maybe he was wrong. Maybe Kakashi does feel the same way about Gai, but his life experiences have led him to belive that he can't have gai. That he's not worthy, or that he'll lose Gai if he tries to have a relationship with him.

Genma wondering what to do about this and how to deal with it cuz he's not keen on Gai getting with Kakashi, but Kakashi also makes gai genuinky happy and seem's to adore Gai in his own way.

Getting really confussed when a brown haired anbu soldier shows up in front of him one day while he's chilling out under a tree trying to figure out what to do and aays "you're having the same problem, arn't you?"

Genma listening to this kid talk about how Kakashi never stfu about Gai and will do stupid things like drop a mission mid way through if Gai is in trouble. He'll finish the mission of course, it'll just take more time because of Gai

Realizing that ya, Kakashi is as invested in Gai as Gai is in him. Genma really has no hope in this case and he's just kind of happy to know he was wrong. That at least Gai is loved back by Kakashi.

Genma and Yamato working together to give Gai and Kakashi the push they need towards each other. Making up excuses to hang out and then leaving them together for dinners and training and other tidiculous scenarios.

Genma working his ass off to get Gai his happy ending as he hangs out with Yamato more and more and those conversations slowly change from being about Kakahsi and Gai, to being about each other.

Gebma realizing that this guy he has just met is actually really cool and kind and shit he may have a bit of a crush.

Yamato running up to Genma excitedly one day after getting back from a mission and lously proclaimkng 'it worked!' Genma asking wtf he's talking about while Yamato just beams with pride

"We juat got back from a mission." He smiled "kakahsi Senpai is pretty tired and when he saw Gai i guess he wasn't alert enough to keep himself back. They kissed and Gai took him back to his apartment for rest"

And god is Genma happy. He's happy Gai get's his happy ever after, but he's even happier when Yanato decides to celebrate by kissing him

"What...what was.." he looks at Yamato in confussion

"Kakashi senpai said i should go relax and kiss that 'idiot i've been spending too much time with lately'" he quotes his senpai "and he's usually pretty smart"

“What do you mean you don’t like pet names?”

“I never said I don’t like them.” Tenzou scratched behindone ear, a little confused. “I just…I don’t have any pets, Genma. You knowthat.”

He didn’t understand why Kakashi was laughing so hard butthen he also didn’t understand why Genma wanted to know about naming pets whenthe man had been to his place before so he was more than aware that Tenzou didn’thave any. The lifestyle of a shinobi just wasn’t often suited to keepingnon-ninja pets.

“Maybe we should talk about something else,” Genma murmured.

“Yes please.”

“What would your ideal date be?”

If the man kept jumping topics so often they were all likelyto get whiplash but Tenzou did his best to keep up, answering with the firstthing that came to mind. “Sometime in October I guess.”

“No I…what?”

“You know,” Kakashi butted in, the visible parts of his facered with laughter. “Nice weather, pretty leaves. October! The perfect date!”

“Exactly,” Tenzou declared, relieved that he’d gotten thisquestion right.

Or so he thought until Kakashi fairly broke down over thetable and he watched Genma take a deep breath, his face pulled in to a look ofdisappointment. He did so hate to disappoint people. If only he knew what hewas doing wrong here. Thankfully the man seemed willing to make at least onemore try to get whatever his point was across.

“Do you enjoy massages?” Genma asked.

“I find them very useful, yes.” At least this one was aneasy question.

“Would you like one?” The smile his friend was wearing didn’tseem to match his words but Tenzou gave them proper consideration anywaybecause that was his way. It simply wasn’t polite to ignore such a selflessoffer.

“No thank you,” he decided. “I haven’t been on a mission ina few days so I’m not actually very sore right now.”

Kakashi promptly excused himself from the booth with onehand clasped over his mouth, muttering to himself about oblivious idiots notgetting the point. Much as Tenzou was aware that he was probably theaforementioned idiot that didn’t help him in the least to figure out what hewas missing. It wasn’t his fault most shinobi were so used to their job theyall but forgot how to talk straight to the point.

Seeing Genma drop his gaze to the table while shaking hishead in defeat, Tenzou felt a wash of remorse and scrambled to find a way toredeem himself. Clearly he’d failed but he knew it would bother him for weeksif he didn’t at least ask for clarification on how. Maybe next time he could dobetter.

“Perhaps if I knew what you were getting at with thesequestions…”

“You really don’t know?” Genma asked, incredulous. “Seriously,you’re not just playing dumb?”

“No,” Tenzou said with a shamed blush.

After a few seconds of staring the leer made a slowreappearance. “I was trying to flirt with you, dumb dumb. Maybe ask you outtomorrow night if you responded at all. But I thought you were just dodging myquestions with the most ridiculous answers you could think of and I was about tobow out with as much grace as I had left.”

“Oh no.” Tenzou sank down on to the table and covered hishead with both hands, mortified beyond words. His crush had been flirting withhim, the man he’d been mooning over for months had been attempting to return theattentions he so badly wanted, and he was too big of an idiot to notice. That wasjust like him. No wonder Kakashi had been laughing at him so much he needed toleave.

Despite hoping that the man would have mercy and leave himto his misery he felt Genma reach over to pat him on the head.

“Would you like to go out tomorrow night?” he asked asclearly as possible.

“Yes,” Tenzou managed to squeak out.

“Never talk about this again?”

“I would appreciate that.”

Tenzou had somehow managed to miss making friends with anyone in the small band of tokujo he was currently hanging out with, and he was starting to think that was a damn shame. His own circle of ANBU friends were the best he could ask for, but the new group was nice: different. Perhaps it had something to do with the fact their missions weren’t always S-class, and the humour wasn’t quite as bleak.

It also probably had a lot to do with the fact that one of the guys was unfairly attractive, and Tenzou couldn’t help stealing glances every chance he got. He’d seen Genma around before, and had definitely noticed him, but now, in the relaxed, casual setting of the bar, it was impossible not to stare, falling a little in love with him: with the sound of his voice, the inviting curve of his lips, his quick wit, the warmth of his gaze, the way he moved, and just... him. Everything about him.

“He’s single,” Raidou said, perhaps unhelpfully, as he brought Tenzou his second drink. He was the reason Tenzou had joined the group and, after being assigned on a co-op mission with the assassin, Tenzou would say they were pretty close. Almost dying together had a tendency to help form firm, lasting friendships. 

Raidou’s words caused Tenzou to look over again, longing welling up in him as he watched Genma’s tease the ever-present senbon from one side of his mouth to the other, his attention dancing towards the two of them for a moment. Tenzou hadn’t planned to do anything reckless, but Raidou was playing devil’s advocate, and the look Genma gave him made him long to throw caution to the wind.

“You should go for it,” Raidou advised, as if reading Tenzou’s mind. He kept his voice low to avoid being overheard by anyone else in the group as he gave a slow, knowing grin and tried to egg Tenzou on. “Come on, tell me what you’re thinking.”

“I was wondering,” Tenzou admitting softly between them, seeing little reason to be coy after what he and Raidou had just been through, “how to politely ask him to slam me against a wall and make out with me.”

Raidou gave a deep chuckle, his hand coming down on Tenzou’s shoulder as he leant in to impart his advice. “With Genma, the best way to ask is to do, trust me. Just go for it.”

Tenzou nodded, turning his attention back to his drink as he considered Raidou’s suggestion. Another glance over at Genma revealed that he wasn’t alone in stealing glances, and a plan started to form in his mind. There was no way he was going to walk over and do anything as reckless as come into Genma with everyone watching, but there was another way he could play this.

The next time he glanced over and Genma caught him looking, Tenzou didn’t bother to hide the fact he was checking Genma out. He felt a flutter of excitement as he realised Genma was doing the same in return. Two more not-so-subtle appraisals of Genma, and Tenzou knew it was now or never. Eyes fixed on Genma, he drained his glass and set it down, excusing himself from the group. He didn’t stop or turn to see if his plan worked as he walked towards the toilets. He’d find out soon enough.

The door had barely swung shut behind him when it was pushed open again, and Tenzou had his answer. He wasn’t sure where the senbon had disappeared to in the last few seconds since he saw it, but Genma’s mouth seemed oddly bereft without it. It distracted him.

“Hey,” the other guy managed, walking forwards. His gaze was darkened by desire, an unmistakable hunger gripping him, and Tenzou felt a shiver of excitement run through him as Genma stepped into his personal space, that look focused entirely on him.

It was second nature for Tenzou to bring his hands up, grasping at the front of Genma’s vest and guiding him in. “Hey,” he managed to breathe in response, before they both elected to forego talking altogether and get right to the good part.

As he was slammed against the wall, Genma’s body crashing against his and teeth already nipping at stinging lips, Tenzou couldn’t help smirking into the kiss. Getting Genma to cooperate had been far too easy.

Gives nose/forehead kisses: Yamato. He learned from his fav Senpai that it was one of many ways to show affection, and decided that it was his favorite way. especially because Genma always goes a bit red in the face every time he does it. 

Gets jealous the most: Yamato. He’s the more emotionally expressive one and he definitely lets his jealousy get to him once in a while. 

Takes care of on sick days: Genma. Yamato is a lot of things. Strong, independent, an ass kicker. Capable of taking care of himself when he’s sick? not so much XD

Drags the other person out into the water on beach day: Genma. He loves being able to get out into the water and goof around, where as Yamato usually takes a bit of convincing to get him out into the water. it’s ok though, Genma is definitely up for the challenge. 

Brings the other lunch at work: Genma. He always has a bit of time off of work and will often go hunt down Yamato while he’s training or doing things around the village. He knows Yamato is likely to forget to eat if he doesn’t because he’s gotten used to missing meals over the years in favor of getting work done. 

Tries to start role-playing in bed: Genma. Yamato is just a little too embarrassed by the idea, but will usually get into it with Genma’s help. 

Embarrassingly drunk dancer: Yamato. 

Firmly believes in couples costumes: Neither of them. Gai tried to do a double date couples costume once and both Genma and Yamato booked it. they were not taking part in this scheme, have fun Kakashi and go find someone else XD

Breaks the expensive gift rule during Christmas: Yamato. He’s an adorable shit who forgets that no expensive gifts rule even exists most of the time. 

Makes the other eat breakfast: Genma. Yamato is prone to getting up and heading right out the door most of the time, but Genma always makes sure to pull him back and sit his ass down for breakfast before he leaves. 

Remembers anniversaries: Both of them. I can’t see either one of them being the forgetful type when it comes to things like that. 

Brings up having kids first: Genma. It’s a hard topic for Yamato to talk about because of how he grew up/was raised, but Genma is convinced they’d both make good dads. 

Kills the bugs: Yamato. Non issue for the man who usually finds bugs on his Jutsu’s anyways

First to define them as a couple: Yamato very excitedly proclaims to his Senpai that he finally got himself a boyfriend. Bad idea because Genma quickly finds himself with a very angry and over protective Kakashi XD but it’s nice to know Yamato is already calling him his boyfriend

Who hides their guilty pleasures longer: Genma. He’s just better at hiding it and doesn’t want to bring it up until he’s certain Yamato won’t judge him for it lol
