  —“It was your brother, wasn’t it?”

  Sickening laughter echoed within the walls of the Absolutely Safe Capsule, made only more uncomfortable by the intense coughing fit that followed. He should have sounded like he was on death’s door, but despite those wheezing breaths, only barely getting fresh air into his lungs, he took clear, energetic delight in this conversation.

  “I can see the resemblance. At least, I could, up until we dissected it.” A quieter giggle sounded off before Porky gasped for his next breath. “It barely looks human now, wouldn’t you say? It sure doesn’t act like it! Ahahaha!”

  The laughter got worse. Porky got so into it that the Capsule began rocking back and forth with his own movements, the metal rolling around accompanied by the sound of his machine rattling around inside of it. Had it ever gotten its energy back? After a moment of quite literally rolling with laughter, the Capsule steadied itself once again.

“Thank you for inviting me to take me with you on your walk...”

Jeff’s gratitude is a little awkward, much like most everything else he says, but it’s genuine. While he was fine not having too many companions while staying in the mansion for the Smash Tournament (after all, with as shy as he was, the large amount of people simply got to be too overwhelming at times), he had begun to form a small friendship with Lucas, especially by way of his dog Boney.

At that thought, Jeff bends down and gives the dog a friendly pat on the head and scratch behind the ears.

“It’s nice that he gets to be with you this time. I wonder if I can convince them to let me bring my friend Bubble Monkey... have I ever told you about him? My adventure’s made me awfully fond of monkeys, heh.”

akira languidly stretches before settling back into his usual slouch,   hands in his pockets and feline companion oddly absent   (   likely trying to mooch off of someone’s fishy lunch,   if he were to guess   ),   the very image of a disheveled teenager and a far cry from the quick and cocky shadow he becomes on the battlefield.   by now he’s been able to reconcile with everyone here knowing both his identities   —   unassuming high school student and leader of the phantom thieves   —   but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t still prefer to wear the quiet,   docile mask in day-to-day interactions.   it helps tremendously for occasions like this.

 “hey, be careful, you’ll hurt yourself!” dark pit scolded, running up to lucas and putting himself between him and the lightning chariot unicorns who reared and neighed in alarm before quickly calming down when dark pit started shushing them. after that was done, he returned his gaze to lucas, a gentle look in his eyes.
