Jeff was no stranger to nightmares.

Even before the War Against Giygas, Jeff had always had frequent nightmares, the subjects of which he could barely remember now over the nauseating reds and blacks that made the suffocating pressure of Giygas itself. Now they were much more frequent, nearly every time of the infrequent occurrences when Jeff tried to sleep, and he often had to console Tony after his dreams of being kidnapped at Stonehenge again. He'd done research and knew how to help people having night terrors, and knew that he shouldn't wake them.

But he still hated seeing people go through them.

It's how he felt with Claus, a friend that he didn't know much of what he'd gone through but still felt that he needed a friend to help keep him safe from whatever haunted his mind. So when he saw Claus in the midst of a nightmare, he acted without thinking and tried gently shaking him awake.
