ghirahim is one of the main antagonists of skyward sword (the only canon storyline game he exists in///sobs @ nintendo give me more pls)

actually the Big Bad Antagonist is Demise, who is ghirahim’s master, but he’s a MASSIVE DOUCHE DICK who i want to KICK IN THE SHINS even though i’d die so i don’t really want to talk about him

but anyway ghirahim is like. the Present antagonist. like demise is this horrible looming threat and you constantly have to fight his,,,imprisoned form, which is complicated, but ghirahim is like, always there, being in your face, being dramatic and extremely vocal and ljflkdsjgk just all arounnd fantastic…….

you see him a lot actually the first time you see him is after you enter an area, you see his legs as he stands there watching link run into the trees…he follows you around a lot too and always goes “oh fancy meeting you here” lol yeah gary hams as if your ass isnt following link around and spying. bye

he is ?? a demon lord/ sword spirit which is really interesting and i wish they’d delved deeper into how he and fi were created, because fi (the spirit of your sword in the game, a Good Guy™ ) is like, meant to be the polar opposite of ghirahim? 

she’s very blunt and technical and has little to no emotions or personality, whereas ghirahim is extremely emotional and passionate and has. arguably A Lot of personality…

and that always got me wondering if they were created at the same time and just split into two entities ya know idk if nintendo ever explained this…probably not…but there are a lot of fan theories…

and how did he become so independent that he’s also a LORD how did you do that ghirahim ? how long were u free from demise… why werent u stuck in your blade like fi…why are you so interesting…why does nintendo want me dead…

ANYWAY

um appearance-wise , im sure youve seen what he looks like because im always….you know…reblogging him…but besides the obvious…..he’s really talll….like super tall……probably over 7 ft tall he’s goddam Towering over everyone…..

OH!! and he has a couple different forms!! the one you see the most in the game is the one with his white outfit and the hair covering his eye, but he actually has another one where his skin is dark brown metal (And it has a diamond pattern on it…can you believe…) and his eyes are white and his hair looks like vanilla soft serve ice cream. also he’seven taller than ever it’s terrifying but im turned on probably

god im embarrassing . anyway.

random fun fact: it’s canon that one of his ears is shorter than the other one in his humanoid form, so like….i’m always wondering if he just did that for the #Aesthetic of his long fringe not having a long ass ear poking out of it. it seems like something he’d do. he;s very aesthetic-oriented.

he’s just. really neato burrito because like, his Goal isn’t to have all this endless power and rule the world blah blah blah but he just really really wants to revive his master. demise is the one who wants to destroy everything ghirahim’s just the guy. trying to revive him.

also he’s just such a shithead because he’s always, always, and i mean. quite graphically telling link (i know you dont know anything about zelda so im just saying…link is your main character…which im sure you know…but anyway) how much he wants to kill him, torture him, etc. and how easily he could do it, but he never does really, like he doesn’t do shit, just taunts you mostly. 

im not kidding he says some really awful stuff, notably: 

“still…it hardly seems fair, being of my position, to take all of myanger out on you.Which is why I promise up front not to murder you… no, I’ll just beat you within an inch of your life”

“Ineed to vent all this unhealthy anger, and your agony is such a great stressreliever.”

“[…] but next time, I’ll do more than just beat you senseless.I’ll make the affair so excruciating, you’ll deafen yourself with the shrillsound of your own screams.”

“come to me, Link. You and I, we’re bound by that thread of fate. Destined tofight.So come close, Link! Meet me in battle, and the thread of fate that binds uswill be soaked crimson with your blood!” (like dude..wtf)

“I swear toyou, whatever it takes, I will drag you into an eternity of torment!”

and he also licks his sword a lot and has this really long tongue which he shows a lot, it’s lowkey creepy but also i’m gross and want to bone him, so, uh. 

OH and like i said, he’s a sword spirit??demon fella and has a sword form, which demise uses (litterally BREAKS ghirahim into submission lol fuck him tbh i hate) in the final battle, but he also has his own powers, such as transporting, controlling other monsters/demons, etc. and has his own weapons, like spear heads (i dont know the word but he throws them at you) and two thin swords

as well as his arms which he. seems really into, he like does a magical girl transformation (jk but i wish) and then shows them off its all very….//suggestive…kinda like a peacock preening for its mate or something…

anyway..

i know im always calling him a piece of shit and whatnot but he’s actually such an interesting character? he’s much more intricate than most zelda villains….im s o mad that he wasn’t explained more…………..hes really cool….i luv him…he’s a bit…awful….but he’s a really fantastic character and more developped than like….any other nintendo villain i’ve ever seen

he’s goddam LOYAL and stubborn and passionate and his moods are hot and cold but he’s always very honest and open and conversational, like at one point he’s just chatting with link about all of his Evil Plans and link is just standing there like :/ pls stop 

jlkjfdgkljfjlk he’s really powerful tbh… like he really could kill link if he tried but he never does? and at the end of the game, after you defeat him the last time before demise lowkey murders him, he says “boy…what are you?” suggesting he finds link and his humanity and his determination something incredible…..

im writing all of this through ghiralink goggles im so sorry  ,but its all true anyway, im just biased

ahh i should probably mention that to resurrect demise, he needs the goddess’ soul (demise is kind of like, the dark to match the goddess, hylia’s, light) and hylia had given up her immortal form long in the past and was reborn as zelda, who in this game is link’s childhood best friend, so you can imagine ghirahim is really truly Awful™ in trying to literally rip her soul out to unleash darkness unto the world………….. 

i love ghirahim a lot. he’s great. he’s kinda awful but he’s really a great character.
