God hears, still

Sarai asked Abram to basically have sex with Hagar because she thinks God wasn’t going to blessed them with a kid.

And Sarai said to Abram, “Behold now, the LORD has prevented me from bearing children. Go in to my servant; it may be that I shall obtain children by her.”

Funny fact is that she thinks can just take Hagar’s kid and everything will be fine. That showed me how when I think that I can do it my way instead of God’s way, and still justify to myself that everything is fine and no one is affected by it. It’s fascinating how twisted sin can make us think and be totally self-absorbed and delusion from what is happening in reality. 

And of course God knows and He hears, but He wasn’t apart of this until it happened. Really reminds us that even after God did such a traumatic scenery before Abram about how He is going to provide and bless Abram’s offspring, with all of that, Abram can still go forward with what God had shown me and spoke to him. And yet, God let it be and didn’t intervened until it happened.

So now, this shows us the reflection of Adam and Eve event when God showed, spoke and blessed but still Mankind fall into this spiral of sin, and of course, so did Abram and Sarai. 

 When Sarai knew that it wasn’t good to have even started it, now she started regretting what she asked Abram to do, and started blaming and eventually also abused Hagar and drew her away.

Sin again, shows us how far can one extend their anger, regrets and selfishness toward someone that was simply being there and used.

God, guide and help me to see and check my heart, I know I sin and fail multiple times, a lot of times, but I still believe that You are my healer, my greatest listener, and also my lovely Father. I know you are hearing the darkness in our hearts, and also seeing how we constantly let this consume us by letting it take over us. And during our darkest hours, You always reminds us that Jesus came for us, hung on that tree and resurrected and conquered death! Even though I acknowledge the dark in me, but I also know the light in me is greater and better.

One thing I’m very sure of, is that I’ll hold on to the promise of Isaac. I never want to be impatient and produce an Ishmael.
