After the tragic death of Cheryl and Tony Masters, their daughter Gemma is forced to move to live with one of her remaining relatives.
Her first pick was her uncle John, but he was deemed unsuitable and she ended up with someone she barely even knew. A relative of her father’s by the name of Vlad Masters.
Despite the unfamiliarity, things seem… fine, at first. Yeah, their interactions are rather stilted and the house’s Packers theming is hideous, but he hasn’t been abusive or anything.
But, look. She’s not blind. Vlad’s not the most subtle guy, and ever since her incident with The Man, she’s made sure to keep an eye out for signs of the supernatural.
There’s clearly something strange going on here. And she’s gonna find out whatever the hell it is.
…though she has to hope that whatever it is won’t be too big for her novice magical abilities.
She could call her uncle if things go really badly, but being the Laughing Magician means he’d likely have more pressing issues to deal with.
