summer warmth tickles the back of her neck, a welcome presence in the early hours of the morning.  june’s proven to be as chaotic as they’d expected, so what time to rest they’re given, they take without complaint.  manager oppa had texted them at four in the morning, relieving them of any impending schedules until the afternoon; she’d allowed herself to fit in a couple more hours of sleep before straggling out of bed to work on a few things.

the apartment’s emptied out except for jisoo, hunched over the dining table with a pen in hand and a notebook trapped beneath one elbow. her phone lies beside her, crackling with static noise– she imagines it’s jieun tossing and turning restlessly in her bed, cracking a smile at the thought.

- it’s time to choose.

{ kkt. } aahh, bothering me?! please, taeyeon-ssi, don’t be so silly! TT it was a small celebration, but thank you so much for dropping by with this sweet message. i wish i responded earlier, but i got caught in some things… it happens to me, i promise myself i’d get back to people, but the work brings out the worst in me: a lazy jieun with an absent mind.

{ kkt. } uuu i’ll be cheesy and say that this message is definitely a big reason for me to smile right now ( ˘ ³˘)♥ i’ll stay healthy and powerful to be able to hang out more with the legend kim taeyeon!!  

( KKT. ) I had to make sure, it’s not like me to be bold when it comes to things like these, heh. But I am glad I decided to send it, in the end it made you smile, which is great!

( KKT. ) You don’t have to worry about it, I was sure you will be busy so I didn’t push it. Did you have fun? I hope it was wild, kekeke. 

( KKT. ) I am like that too, always lazy and tired but I can never sit around for too long because I am restless and I have to go to work on something, be productive, you know? That’s why I asked for and have been granted so many solos and concerts lately, when the group activities where second to none. 

( KKT. ) But don’t call me a legend, please! I appreciate the comment but you know you are just as good. You have lots of talent and potential.

‘…but isn’t that the same for everyone?’

the words slip from chanyeol’s lips rather carelessly, without any thought behind them. isn’t it natural for everyone to have faults that grow bigger each other? everyone is born with them, whether they want to admit it or not.

he sees it two ways: you either learn and grow, or you burn and suffer from them. flaws can be your biggest downfall, if you let them bury you. they can also be your greatest achievement – if you use them to your advantage and over come them. he doesn’t see them as a bad thing. how could something so simple as a flaw be a bad thing?

perfection doesn’t exist in this world, no matter how perfect something might seem. no matter how perfect someone might seem.

chanyeol, personally, is a man of many faults himself. he could probably sit and list each and every one that he’s aware of, and it might take hours to do so. but it’s not something that he likes to focus on. he’s someone who likes to take a flaw and make it into one of his strong points. he likes to do something he’s bad at until he’s good at it. because of that, he is, in a way, a perfectionist. ( just imagine the frustration he feels when he can’t get something right, and only proves to fail at what he’s trying to achieve. he doesn’t stop until he succeeds. )

there is the fact that it is different from everyone. everyone handles things differently, and chanyeol can’t expect anyone to be the same as him. his need for success and being good at things he wants to be good at is what drives him to do something about it.

‘ah, that was.. insensitive of me,’ he’s quick to apologize, giving a bow of his head and an apologetic smile. he only speaks again once he straightens up, his lower lip sucked between his teeth with his brows furrowed slightly. ‘you shouldn’t focus on your faults, though. your faults make you.. you. the you that everyone loves. and if you don’t like them very much.. well, you can work on making a better you so you can learn to love yourself, right? each year, you can be a better you than the year before.’ it made sense in his head, though saying it is a little more confusing, but he only hopes she understands.

Now this was not only an unusual, but also an interesting question, at least to Yoona. She loved when she was able to get deep immersed into philosophical questions at some times, so when someone brought it up first, she immediately took the chance and dove into it. This, however, was technically a question that she could answer with her knowledge. The concept of souls and how afterlife worked was still stored in a part of her brain, along with many unpleasant memories she didn't want to recall. No, that was an old life entirely. But leaving it behind completely and thinking about it obliviously as her current self wasn't something Yoona could do either. So she responded, subdued but with honesty.

jennie knew she had to get her head on straight before she spoke. taking a steadying breath, she forced herself to turn around and face her. it would be a pitfall if it was her who gave advice, because she had no way to understand. she has something great going on for her in those grounds and no matter what angle she tries to look at the situation, be it positive, negative or the usual realistic means, she would never truly 'understand' unless she was in her position.

Her dark hues fall on the girl in front of her and as she speaks, Taeyeon props her chin over her hand and idly pinches the index finger and the thumb of the free hand over the teaspoon that stands against the cup, then begins to mix the dark liquid to distract herself. The two of them had never been close to begin with, but once in a while, when they manage to slip between packed schedules, they arrange an ordinary meeting, destined to small talk and hot drinks. Uncomplicated relief, incognito breaks from  the chaos.

This time, the older of them finds herself babbling about the worrisome sensation that has her paralyzed for moments before releasing her to deep, short slumbers. Although, as soon as she finishes speaking she feels bad about having opened her mouth, Taeyeon can’t find the force to excuse herself. Instead, she listens to Jieun explaining her methods of relieving stress without any additional imput, nodding from time to time, slightly embarrassed.
