This weekend, I am back in NYC for the second time. This time around, two of my roommates came with. We're staying in Amanda's apartment while she is off seeing Europe. 

I don't actually have anything to say about New York yet for this go seeing as we got off the bus and immediately headed out of the rain underground to get here, grabbed take out, and came home for the night to plan tomorrow. But I do want to say something about staying in Amanda's place.

First of all, it makes me wish very very much that she were here. My roommates wish it too; both keep saying, as they look around the room, that they like her already just based on her apartment. Aside from wishing she were here in the space, living for a tiny bit of time in someone else's space is one of my favorite things to do. It feels like an active way of putting yourself in someone's shoes. You wake up to the world they wake up to every day. You see their personality splashed across a few rooms. It's like learning someone's personality by surrounding yourself with it.

And I should note that Amanda has the classiest kept and best organized apartment I have ever been in. I just hope her class rubs off on me a bit this weekend.

Anna - What is your definition of true love?

My first inclination is to say pizza. But on a more serious note, I think it’s finding that person/those people with whom you are most comfortable. And true love doesn’t have to be limited to romantic relationships! I mean, look at Elsa and Anna! 

Let it go - What are you most proud of? 

Specifically, I’m really proud of my time coaching my middle school’s color guard squad. A lot of those girls have gone on to be like world class and I definitely feel like I influenced them and that’s a cool feeling. I’m also really proud of my writing. It’s not always perfect but I like to think that it’s honest and entertaining. That’s what matters, right?

Olaf - What is your funniest memory?

yeah, that's right, I'm lookin' at you chateauofadoubt and geekerrific. Seriously, you are two of my best friends on and off line and I am so grateful to have you guys in my life. <3 <3 <3

Plus the new friendships that have been building and the support that I know I have from people on tumblr has been really really wonderful and instrumental in processing lots of things and taking care of myself.

where were you (mentally or physically or virtually or whatever, you choose) three weeks ago? - asleep. I was really sick that week and spent most of my time marathoning Netflix and getting acquainted with NyQuil.

what was the last item you forgot to bring/buy/acquire in some way?  - forgot to get something signed at work

what is one of your personal truths?  - I do what I can and that has to be good enough

what is your favorite kind of cookie?  - Mexican wedding cookies

what is the title of the last book you read or are currently reading? - The Lord of the Rings for the Tolkien Read-Along!

is/was the book from the previous question any good?  - yes.

what is one word you’d never realized you were mispronouncing or misspelling (either in your head or out loud) until someone pointed it out? - probably some sort of wine...

do you believe in the concept of evil? why/why not? - yes. I believe everyone is capable of evil, but that that evil is determined by the person. 

what word or phrase comes to mind when you see or hear the word lucky? - duck

what is in your pockets (or, what’s in your hypothetical pockets, if you aren’t wearing any actual ones)? - post-it with notes about signing up for health insurance, debit card, Whole Foods team member card, bobby pins, and decongestant.
