Quick question about Vani (i.e. Post-Brandshock) eyes:
In regards to picking the specific shades of GBVR, as I've seen that the specific shades can vary between individual Vani (i.e. Petrenotos's eye ring colors are different from, say, Pypilawa's), are there any specifications for the colors outside of them being recognizable as GBVR?
For example: Do the colors all need to be the same "shade/saturation" as each other (i.e. if one color is pastel, do they all need to be pastel)?
I'm trying to make my own little quartet of "crossover" Kwaiz/Vani (in this case, re-interpreting some characters from a different series as Kwaiz/Vani), and each of the characters is already associated with a color from GBVR (one G, one B, one V, one R) and thought it'd be fun to have their Post-Brandshock brand/eye colors have their respective color be more saturated/bright compared to the others in some way, but I want to know if that would or would not break any rules.
Many thanks in advance!
(porting the answer over from Toyhouse so it's easier to see)
As long as they're all still recognizable as GBVR! So you can't have them all black except for one ring, for example. But the relative colors of each can be shifted to benefit the palette!
The GBVR thing is meant to be garish and unnatural to a degree, so there's less wiggle room. But as long as the other colors are there, you can make one brighter!

Is there any correlation between a vani's pattern orientation being GBVR or RVBG and another aspect of the Vani or was it just a coinflip whether they got branded that way?
they're technically all GBVR, but the "RVBG" look is when their eyes are cycling outwards rather than inwards. it'll flip, and it might be based on "feeling" though i'm currently not too sure.
it's actually quite difficult to arrange the GBVR along with getting them to look nice when cycling, so it's like this; they're canonically in the order of GBVR, but which way they cycle is up to you as not to make one freak out too much over the orientation.
from pupil -> outward, if it goes G-B-V-R, it'll imply the eye's cycling inwards since the G will be followed by B and onwards. if it's R-V-B-G from pupil -> outward, it means it's cycling outwards, as the next pupil adjacent color will be green.
if they DO flip cycling directions, it's instantaneous, like programmable LED lights
I may be dogshit
