@staff @support I want you to know that Biggest-Gaudiest-Patronuses has been a huge support to me. They have made me smile when my depression hits hard. They have me laugh, think deeply, and enjoy life. They have given me something I didn't know I needed. A kind of support that I need. You shadow banning them is wrong, cowardly, and insensitive. You have stripped a part of me. How much more damage are you going to do to this site before it completely dies or becomes just a hollow shell of racists, supremacists, porn bots, and other people lacking moral fiber? Please recognize that this is not the way to handle the situation. On other social media sites, content is automatically filtered. I have the option (just like here) to type in hashtags of content I wish not to see (violence, gore, trypophobia, body horror, etc.) And when the filter slips up because the AI didn't catch it at first or because someone didn't tag the post, usually there is a safety net, a filter covering the image warning me of what is inside. Then I make the choice of whether or not I wish to see the content. And the system is never perfect and there will probably never be a perfect system, but it works the vast majority of the time. If you prompt users before they see unsafe content, if you set up age guidelines, and if you monitor the legit bad blogs out there, I guarantee you that your struggles will lessen considerably. Apple will likely not have an issue. There will always be users complaining, especially as you first begin to implement the new system, but if you take the time to educate the minors and provide sources for them to know how to protect themselves on this site, if you take the time to provide an effective way to eliminate pedophiles, hate blogs, scammers, stalkers, unsafe porn blogs/bots, etcetera, then you would find that your site would function better, users would be happy, more users would flock to you, profits increase, advertisers that didn't want to be associated with you before may now, and people would stop harassing you. If this is genuinely not your fault, but Verizon/Yahoo's fault then tell us so that we may reach out to them alongside you. Please give us back Gaud, please reconsider your decision. Please be better, be clever, be considerate.
