#spooniespotlight Hi, My name is Mariah. Almost 5 years ago I began to get sick. I went to the doctor and they found out that my kidneys weren’t functioning right. After tons of test and procedures they still never found out why my kidneys decide to dump out potassium, protein, and blood from my body. At times they will go into total kidney failure. I’m in the hospital every month getting infusions. Due to this it makes it really difficult for me to walk at times. I was also diagnosed with a heart disorder that causes fainting spells, seizures, cardiac arrest or sudden death. I had a 4 hour heart surgery to see if they could fix that problem but they couldn’t so they implanted a heart monitor inside my chest and put me on heart medication. This year I was diagnosed with Gastroparesis. That’s when your stomach stops working totally or partially. From that I haven’t been able to physically eat or drink for over 2 years. I had to get a feeding tube placed in my nose to my intestines. I had that tube for a year and a half until I was diagnosed with SMA syndrome. That’s when your aorta artery compresses your intestines not allowing anything to pass. This can be life threatening so I had a 5 hour surgery for that 3 months ago and during it they placed a different kind of feeding tube coming directly out of my stomach straight to my intestines. I do tube feeds 22 hours a day. I still can't eat or drink anything because I need another surgery to implant a pacemaker inside of my belly. I also have fibromyalgia, Osteoporosis, asthma, etc. I’m in pain everyday but it doesn’t stop me from living my life. . . . #smasyndrome #gastroissues #gastroparesis #osteoporosis #fibromyalgia #chronicpain #feedingtube #spoonielife #chronicillness
