Facts:
Garyx is the Chaotic Evil god of fire, renewal, and destruction for the Draconic Pantheon. His holy symbol is a reptilian eye over a flame.
In his first appearance, in the original Draconomicon, his alignment was listed as CN(E), which would seem to indicate that his alignment was either Chaotic Neutral with Evil inclinations, or both Chaotic Neutral and Chaotic Evil. Noteworthy, he can have Chaotic Good followers, according to Races of the Dragon.
His titles are Firelord, All-Destroyer, and Cleanser of Worlds.
Garyx is worshiped by Red Dragons, who see him purely as a source of destruction; and by some Gold Dragons, who see him as a source of renewal.
At the Winter Solstice, followers of Garyx will burn items in a massive bonfire. During the Spring Equinox, these ashes are revisited to see what might be reclaimed from them.
Garyx once ended a war by playing a game of wah-ree against the leader of the Giant Pantheon, Annam All-Father (depicted in the image above). Because of this, and because of his name, some believe Garyx was based on the Dungeons and Dragons creator, Gary Gygax.
