I know, I know, but yeah, I haven’t seen A Knight’s Tale, I’ve only caught a couple of scenes on tv but I don’t remember seeing James in them. He was pretty good in Resident Evil but I didn’t like his character lol. I guess we’ll see if I give this a try, and if you’ll give Stranger Things a try too, then we can talk about both shows ;)

Oh wow, I LOVE A Knight’s Tale! I grew up attached at the hip to that movie... so good :) James’s character was only in it toward the end, really. Well, I guess technically he was in it a bit earlier than that - but you didn’t know it until the end because his character was in disguise prior to that. I won’t give anything more than that away in case you ever do wind up watching it, but I love that film. It’s such a feel-good/happy film, and we need more of those in the world nowadays! (Also, I’m pretty sure it was my first experience with James as an actor as well, so it’ll always hold a special place in my heart for that - just as Ally McBeal will for me, in regards to Greg xD) 

You know how to sell it. It might be on top of the list of things to watch now. I’ll definitely need the emotional support, so if I do get around to watching it, you’ll be having a bunch of new messages lol. Yeah, I’ve seen some of the scenes you’ve reblogged, I wish we’d gotten that with Zades, but you know how Adam is all delusional with his “it’s a family show” thing.. I’ve only seen James in Resident Evil, he was really good in that so I’m sure he’s good in this too.

I AM quite persuasive! LOL. You haven’t seen A Knight’s Tale though?? My god, that’s surprising... unless you did, and you’d forgotten he was in that. He was wonderful in Resident Evil (STOP. DYING. JAMES. GOD.) and of course he was fantastic in HBO’s Rome. He’s an absolutely brilliant actor, and an even better guy... I really can’t say enough about him. He pulls the role of Joe Carroll off so well that it almost looks effortless. That’s James’ charm. He walks into the room, and everyone pays attention. He’s got a gift, what can I say? xD 

He certainly upstaged Kevin Bacon in nearly every scene they shared together imo, and I’m sure I don’t need to tell you how talented an actor HE is. They had wonderful chemistry, and aside from Joe and Emma - Joe’s scenes with Ryan were my favorite. So incredibly good... they had a connection that’s so hard to explain, but it went far beyond the whole “oooh you’re the bad guy so I’m gonna catch you” thing. FAR beyond. They’re easily my secondary ship on the show, and that was really played up in S3 whenever Joe was on screen (which wasn’t nearly often enough!)

Well, I mean, when it was about to air I wanted to see it because of Kevin Bacon, but I never got around to it, and then I saw you posting about it and it piqued my interest again. If those two have Zades vibes then I’m going to be all over them, but like I’m still extremely upset with all the shit that happened in ouat, I don’t know? It’s on my list of things to watch though, I just don’t know when I’ll actually sit down and let the pain start ha

Oh they have some SERIOUS Zades vibes now and again, but their relationship is a bit more... complicated than that. Certainly darker. Depending on the actual backstory for Zades (seriously HOW LONG DID THEY KNOW EACH OTHER... I WANT TO KNOW) Joe and Emma may have actually known each other longer as well. I think they met when Emma was 15, and she was in her late 20′s by the end of her arc. 

ANYWAY. I was in the same boat, only in reverse... I heard about it and tuned in for James Purefoy because I have a long-standing love affair going on with that man (it’s okay, he just doesn’t know it yet LOL) and I mean come on -- he was playing a serial killer that was, in some ways, heavily based off of my favorite real life serial killer... and he was heavily into Romantic literature,  more specifically Edgar Allan Poe, and I JUST LOVE THAT CHARACTER ALRIGHT. He’s a narcissist, make no mistake about it... but I love him dearly, and I didn’t think he deserved what he got. I don’t think anyone does.

Hopefully you won’t regret it lol. I kinda want to watch The Following, but I’m not sure I can deal with another heartbreak and from what you’ve been posting, it’s bad, so I’m staying away..

Oh god, The Following is SO worth it imo! I mean yeah, they did wreck the shit out of things after a while... but I like to pretend that never happened, LOL! 

Really, it would all depend on who you aligned with. If you wound up on Team Ryan, you really wouldn’t be too troubled... SOME people got a reasonably decent ending, after all. I’m just me, and of course I fall in love with the serial killer (and his right hand man woman) so I wound up getting shafted on the deal entirely. 

But the show was so incredibly good before that point, and you weren’t ever pressured into feeling like a terrible horrible human being for liking the “bad guy” because the show was essentially FULL of “bad guys...” it was just up to you to let your chips fall where they may, and sympathize with whichever group you chose -- as well as WHY. 

I love it when you get questions about zades or hades and I get to read your thoughts on it. Yes to all of this.

I’m not going to lie... I rather enjoy it myself, and I still have several left to answer because I’m a fucking slowpoke I’ve been neglecting my inbox for days! I doubt any of my responses will be quite as verbose as this one was (although stranger things certainly have happened...) but I enjoy answering each and every one of the Zades related questions I get. I love that people even think to consult me, honestly... or that people feel the desire to send me song recs, or headcanons, or what have you. It’s fantastic!
