"Sorry if I'm coming at the wrong time." Wu apologized and placed a bouquet on the table.

"No, I would wake Misako, but she's—"

"I know she needs a rest." Wu slightly smiled. "Maybe I should go—"

"No, no!" Garmadon ran to him and helped him take off his coat. "You can stay with me, if your brother is not too boring."

"Haha. Never."

Wu sat next to Garmadon and observed him. Tapping his fingers on the table, he smiled.

"Fatherhood suits you better than I thought it would, my brother."

"What?" Garmadon waved his hand dismissively. "Is it about the dark circles around my eyes or the messy hair?"

Both laughed in the comfortable way they hadn't done in a while.

"No, I haven't seen you this happy since you married Misako."

"Oh." Garmadon raised a brow, smiling. "Well, I'm indeed very happy. But I—"

"But you what?" Wu raised a brow at Garmadon.

"Oh, Wu, I'm afraid I might lose them or—" Garmadon placed his head in his trembling hands."What if I hurt them?"

"Brother." Wu placed an arm on his shoulder. "Venom... is it...? Have you—"

"No!" Garmadon stood up with a loud noise. "I would never. Never! I would never hurt them. It's just... I feel it sometimes, and the urge to destroy is so strong. And then I see them, and it goes away. But what if... what if one day I see them and it won't go away? What if I hurt them?"

"You won't." Wu rushed to Garmadon and hugged him.

Garmadon swallowed in surprise and then hugged his brother back, relieving his tears. It's been so long since they shared an emotional moment. So long since Garmadon was vulnerable in front of him. He missed that.

"I need you, Wu. I need my brother more than ever. Don't leave me, please. Don't leave me or my family."

"I'll never leave you."

Wu stepped away from Garmadon and placed an arm on his shoulder. "You have my word."

"If something happens to me, take care of them."

"Nothing will happen!"

"Wu!" They were interrupted by Misako's happy voice.

Garmadon breathed out.

She held Lloyd, visibly exhausted but much better than before.

"Misako! Congratulations!"

"Thanks. Lloyd, meet your uncle."

"Can I hold him?"

"Sure, just wash your hands first."

"All right." Wu almost ran to the bathroom.

"You fine?" Misako frowned, looking at Garmadon.

"Yes." Garmadon tried to force a smile.

"You know, I'm better now. It's your time to take a rest. Promise?"

"I'm back." Wu approached and quietly followed Misako's instructions on how to hold a baby.

"Hello, my little nephew, hello!"

"He is growing so fast." Misako sighed and placed her head on Garmadon's shoulder.

"He really is. Will his eyes stay blue like Wu's?"

"No." Misako smiled. "He'll get his natural color through the next few months. What do you think?"

"Well, I bet he'll have beautiful green eyes, just like yours."

"Then I'll bet he'll get the brown ones."

Garmadon and Misako shook hands and both continued laughing.

"What are we betting? Whoever loses needs to change a diaper?"

"Haha."Garmadon laughed. "You know, I love our little angel, but I feel like we need some time alone. Why don't we use Uncle Wu now that we've unlocked him in Lloyd's life?"

"Have you remembered? If he cries, bottle. If he—"

"Cough." Garmadon nervously tapped his watch. "Not to be grumpy, but we'll be late. You repeated this five times."

"I just want—"

"Don't worry."Wu took Lloyd from Misako's arms. "I remembered. I'll just call you if something goes wrong. And that won't happen."

"Alright." Misako smiled sadly and kissed her baby's head. "Be good and don't cause your uncle any trouble. Mama and Papa will come back soon."

"Take care!" Garmadon raised an arm in greeting and looked at his baby longingly.

"I wonder if he's okay..." Misako frowned.

"Me too." Garmadon looked at his watch. "Thirty minutes! Just thirty minutes passed!"

"Oh, I want to go back home to my baby." Misako sighed. "Maybe it's too early to leave him."

"Maybe."Garmadon sighed. "Maybe we should come back. I really want to make sure he's okay."

"And then the First Spinjitzu Master created Ninjago, and—"Wu blinked. "Why are you here? Have you forgotten something?"

"We came back." Garmadon helped Misako take off her coat. "We missed our little baby."

"Oh."Wu gulped. "But I just started telling him a story!"

"You'll finish it some other time." Garmadon waved his hand and took the baby from the grumpy-looking Wu.

"Papa is back! Now we can make you formula and go to sleep."

"Thanks for coming, Wu." Misako smiled and hugged her brother-in-law.

"No problem. Call me if you need me again. I enjoyed this little time we had together."

It's like a dream when I see

I'm in such an enormous glee

When we're together drinking tea

I know we've been through a lot,

After Crystallized, Misako and Garmadon navigate co-parenting Lloyd while dealing with unresolved feelings from their past.

"Coffee?" Misako placed a small cup in front of the ex-evil lord.

"Do I look like I drink coffee, woman?!" Garmadon roared, crossing his arms.

"You look like someone who needs to find something to calm you down." Their eyes met in a non-friendly way. "Coffee is a good start."

"What do you want?" Pushing the coffee away, Misako's ex-husband crossed his dark arms yet again.

"To talk," the archaeologist sighed, sitting next to him.

"About what do we have to talk?" Pretending to be annoyed, he rolled his eyes.

Misako was stubborn, like always.

"Our son." Placing her hand down, Misako looked at her hands, then at Garmadon's face, and then again at her hands.

"What about him?" he asked, raising a brow, calmer.

"You want to be a father to him?"

"I'm his father!"

"Yes, but now do you want to be present?" Misako dared to look at him, clenching her fists.

"Yes..." Garmadon forced the word through gritted teeth. "And what does that have to do with you?"

Misako got up, almost knocking over the table.

"Go," she whispered.

"What?"

"I said go!" Misako almost spilled coffee on him. "I don't want to hear another word from your childish mouth."

Garmadon gulped and almost ran from the kitchen.

When he left, Misako sat at the table.

Why was he so cold?

What did she expect?

She had no idea, but she hoped for better results.

No matter how much she tried to get rid of that feeling, Misako hoped.

Hoped that her husband would return to her now that he was trying to be good again.

Yet again, she found herself yelling in disappointment.

Garmadon's hand trembled as he ran out of the kitchen.

"What's wrong with me?" he asked out loud as he bit his lip.

He was ashamed, really ashamed.

"Ugh, why is she awakening the rage in me?!"

"Who is awakening rage in you, brother?" Wu asked.

"Uh, uh, no one." Garmadon tried to smile despite himself trembling.

Wu sighed."Misako?"

"Uh-huh."

"Don't tell me you hurt her."

"Me? Never!" Garmadon looked for the nearest escape.

"Let me put it this way." Wu pressed his lips together. "Don't tell me you hurt her again."

"Well..." Garmadon's cheeks grew red. "She was angry."

"Why?"

"I-I was childish, okay! I don't know why, but... but... never mind." Garmadon turned away. "It doesn't matter anyway."

"But what?" Sensei approached his brother and placed a hand on his shoulder. "You can tell me."

"Every time I think about her or... or when I'm close to her, something happens inside me. And then I feel rage."

"Rage?" Wu raised a brow. "Brother... you two have a complicated past. You should stop and think about what's the real emotion behind that anger you feel. What are you trying to hide? Excuse me, but I need to check on Misako. Where was she again?"

"Kitchen." Garmadon gulped and silently followed after Wu.

"Misako, dear." Wu's eyes widened as he saw her crying, looking at the cold cup of coffee Garmadon had left behind.

"Misako..."

"I-I thought that... that..."

"It's okay." Her ex-brother-in-law offered her a hug. "It's okay..."

"No, I thought that things might be different this time. I was foolish to hope. Again."

Wu sighed as she stepped out of his embrace and rubbed her eyes.

"You're not foolish." Wu bit his lip. "You're just human, made of flesh and heart."

He knew he would've treated her better.

"I know, Wu, but... I-"

Garmadon watched them talk from a distance.

Something strange was happening in his stomach as he watched the mother of his son cry.

Something he had never felt before.

Or had forgotten he had ever felt before.

But his eyes started to sting uncomfortably, so he forced himself to back away from watching them.

~~~Next morning~~~

"What are you doing?" Misako frowned at the sight of Garmadon cooking something.

"I'm making us coffee."

"You drink coffee?"

Anger.

Garmadon felt the anger in her voice.

"Yes, well... I have a feeling I need to apologize for yesterday. I... we need to talk."

Misako stared at him coldly.

It was hard to imagine the passion that had once existed between their gazes when they were lovers.

"I'm sorry. Coffee?" Garmadon nervously shifted from one leg to another.

"Okay."

Taking the hot cups, they sat for a few moments in comfortable silence.

"I overreacted." Misako stared at the coffee in her hands.

"You haven't. I-I was unbearably stupid, and I'm sorry."

"But why?" Misako met his eyes, but he looked away quickly.

The archaeologist bit her lip and looked into the distance.

"You wanted to talk about Lloyd."

"I believe Lloyd is the least of the problem. I wanted to talk about us."

"We can be friends." Misako raised a brow, still looking into the distance.

"But can we be friends without being something more? That's why I acted like that yesterday. There are feelings in me that I cannot yet understand. But I'll work on them."

Misako smiled slightly.

"Could you?" she whispered, taking a deep breath. "Could you be that man again? Could you love me?"

Warmth started to find its way back into their gazes.

"Could you forgive me and love a monster?"

The Oni broke eye contact and stared at his black hands.

Misako placed her hand in his and gently squeezed it.

"Maybe I could."

"That maybe applies to me too." He met her eyes, smiling widely back at her.

Garmadon took a loud sip of his still-warm coffee.

"Mm. I like it. We should drink coffee more often." Garmadon kissed Misako's knuckles.

"Really?" Giggling, Misako pulled her chair closer to him, daring him with her intense gaze.

"How much more often?"

CHAPTER 1-FELT

Inspired by Misako after S4.

Closing my eyes, I felt you beside me.

Inhaling, I felt your arms around me.

Exhaling, I felt your kisses on my skin.

Opening my eyes, I felt you leave me

again, again, and again.

You promised to stay,

that this time it would be okay,

but you lied,

even if you tried.

A cold bedroom is all I have,

regrets, shame, and pain.

I miss you, I need you.

I'm breaking apart

while I call you,

pointlessly crying

Garmadon,Misako and their newborn son.

"This is your room!" Garmadon enthusiastically led their newborn around the house. "But don't cry. You'll sleep with us for a while. First I'll show you the bathroom, then your crib, and then—Psss. Don't cry, my baby boy."

"Garm," Misako called. "I think he's hungry."

"Again?" Garmadon frowned. "You ate an hour ago, you little bean! He surely got my appetite." He turned to Misako and carefully placed the baby in her arms. "Can you?"

"Of course." Misako tried to hide her tiredness, but it was impossible considering the dark circles under her eyes. "He's my baby after all."

"I know." Garmadon kissed her forehead. "You had a hard time. I'm worried."

"Don't—"

"Ahh—"

"I'm going!" Garmadon started running to get a bottle of formula.

"Don't hurt yourself—"

"Ouch! I'm fine. Formula is coming!"

Misako chuckled as her gaze returned to her baby. "Your dad's a little silly, but I find it funny."

Misako bit her lip. Her whole body hurt from the labor that was anything but uncomplicated. She wished she had more strength for her baby, but even holding him exhausted her to the maximum. But she'll do it for him. She'll be a mother who's present with her baby.

"Here it is!"

"Great." Misako took the formula, but her hands shook. "I'll—"

"Maybe I can give him that..."

"No! I'm his mother and I want to feed him," Misako objected.

Garmadon sighed. Those hormones.

"You're—" He wanted to point out that she was tired, but considering her earlier reactions, that wasn't the best thing he could do. "I have an idea, but you need to give me Lloyd."

Misako thought for a second, but her hands shook so rapidly... She wouldn't want to drop her baby.

"Alright," Misako whispered.

Garmadon took Lloyd and sat at the head of the bed.

"Come to me."

Misako obeyed and came into his embrace.

"Like that, you'll still be close to him but without needing to hold him."

"Hm." Misako smiled and cuddled Lloyd's feet. "I'm afraid."

"Afraid of what?" Garmadon looked at her red eyes.

"Afraid that I'll be a bad mother."

"You won't." Garmadon smiled and gently kissed her nose. "I know you'll be great. You already are."

"But I can't—" Misako's lips shook.

"My love." Garmadon pulled her closer as tears dropped down her cheeks. "You already carried him for months. You gave birth to him and almost lost your life. If that's not a good mother, I don't know what is. So what if you can't breastfeed him or hold him all the time? You have me. Dads are for something, right?"

"Right." Misako smiled through tears and kissed his cheek. "I love you."

"I love you too. And promise me not to worry about anything. I'll take care of everything around the house and whatever you need with the baby. You focus on your rest, promise?"

"I'll try."

They went silent for some time, adoring their little baby boy.

"He is so small." Garmadon gently cuddled him. "So cute."

"I know." Misako smiled, playing with her baby's feet. "I wonder who he'll look like."

"He is so small." Misako smiled as she watched her baby sleep.

"He really is." Garmadon kissed Misako on the cheek. "Are you feeling better?"

"A little." Misako bit her lip.

"I'll help you."

Misako knew that wasn't a question when Garmadon gently took Lloyd from her and placed him in the crib.

"He'll sleep for a couple of hours."

"I know." Misako rubbed her eyes. "I'll go prepare the water—"

"I'll."Her husband gently sat on the bed next to her. "Honey. Doctors said—"

"I know I need to rest!" Misako snapped, but Lloyd quietly cried.

"I know," she whispered. "But that's my baby, and if he wakes up, I want to be there."

It took all of Garmadon's will to stay calm despite the evilness in him. He looked at her, and all of his anger dissolved in a moment. She was tired, barely surviving the labor and incredibly self-blaming for not being able to breastfeed Lloyd.

He understood her, but he couldn't let her exhaust herself to the point where she wouldn't be able to stand on her feet.

"Alright." Garmadon hugged his wife and kissed her forehead. "You'll be there. But I will too."

"We'll both be."Misako snuggled into his soft embrace.

"Shh!" Garmadon begged his father so that Misako wouldn't wake up as he quietly took the baby out of the room.

"Mommy is tired."

The father gently placed a bottle in his small son's mouth.

"Here, sweetie... Mommy is so tired. We need to make sure she gets proper rest. Shhhh. Sweetie, don't cry. She'll feed you in the morning, don't worry."

Garmadon's eyes watered.

This was what he'd always wanted.

A home with a wife and child.

A home full of love and understanding.

A home full of people who loved him because of who he was, not who he was supposed to be.

His angel. His son.

So small and helpless, but still relying on him for support and survival.

"I love you."

Garmadon cried as he looked at the happiness he had always wanted but always thought he'd never have.

"I'll tell you if I feel tired, I promise." Misako tried hard not to argue with her concerned husband.

"Who is going on his first walk?"Misako cooed at Lloyd while putting him into the stroller."You need to catch some sun to prevent being pale like Daddy."

"Haha." Garmadon sarcastically smiled, gently running his fingers across her cheeks. "You're pretty pale too."

"That'll pass." Misako laughed and wanted to joke more about Garmadon's skin, but... the venom was not a topic they liked to discuss. Not on their son's first walk.

A few minutes passed in silence.

"Garm."

"Huh?"

"What... what are we gonna do when he grows up?"

"We'll love him."

Garmadon was concerned. What kind of question was that?

"No, I mean yes... but that's not what I meant."

Moments passed.

"What did you mean, my love?" her husband asked as gently as possible.

"What when he grows up and starts screaming for sweets? Or when he refuses to go to sleep? And when he wants to smoke? What are we going to do then?"

"Well..." Garmadon looked at their petite baby. It was hard to imagine him growing up. "We'll try our best to make the right choices."

"We won't always."

"I know." Garmadon smiled. "We can't be perfect parents, but we can be there for him and try our best."

"Right. That's the most important thing. To be there for our baby."

"You can barely walk." Garmadon helped Misako sit on the nearest bench to catch her breath.

"Seems like we're already taking a break."

Garmadon handed Lloyd to her as she smiled at him.

"I love you, my baby."

Garmadon sat next to her and helped keep her hands steady.

"And I love you too."

Garmadon giggled when he felt her hot lips on his temple.

Just Sensei Garmadon being a stereotypical dad with the cat.

“Dad!” Lloyd yawned. “What are you cooking for breakfast?” Lloyd tried to peek inside, but Sensei Garmadon shooed him away.

“Nothing.”

“Seriously, Dad?” Lloyd pleaded. “Pancakes? Toast? An omelet?”

“Lloyd.”

Sensei Garmadon sighed. “Sarabi doesn’t want to eat the food we bought, so I’m making her breakfast.”

“What?” Lloyd looked at him with wide eyes. “I knew you loved her!”

“I wouldn’t go that far. She’s still forbidden from entering my room. Your room too—”

“Yeah, yeah.” The Green Ninja waved his hand dismissively. “Just let me take her breakfast to her.”

“No chance. I’ll do it myself. I want Sarabi to know who made this for her.”

“What are you doing?” Misako sighed as she watched Garmadon trying to build something.

“What?” He looked at her. “I’m always doing something with my hands!”

“Fighting, yes.” Misako sat down beside him on the floor. “But using a hammer? Never.”

“Come on.” Sensei smiled as he watched Misako’s face grow more confused while he continued working.

“Hmm.” Misako pressed her lips together. “Be careful not to hurt—”

“Ouch!”

“Told you. Crafts really aren’t your thing.” Garmadon rolled his eyes in amusement.

“What are you making?”

“A cat house.”

Her husband tried to suppress a laugh as Misako’s eyes widened. “Wha— Aww—"

" No! It’s not what you think!”

“Aww. You love her? What’s next? She’ll start sleeping in our bed?”

“No, this is only so she stops wandering into the rooms.” Garmadon’s face turned red as he kept building the cat house.

“Come on.” Misako lightly nudged him. “I’ll stop teasing you. Just let me help before you lose a finger.”

“Hide!” Lloyd tried to shoo Sarabi under the bed. “Please!”

“Lloyd.” Sensei Garmadon opened the door to his room, and his eyes immediately landed on the cat. Lloyd gulped, preparing for another lecture.

“Son, I need your help in the living room.” Sensei smiled, completely ignoring the cat.

“I’ll be there in a minute.”

“Alright.” Sensei left, and Lloyd sighed.

“Looks like you’re staying here.” Lloyd gently patted his pet.

“Who’s my little baby?” Garmadon cooed at Sarabi while petting her. “Who’s the cutest baby in the world?”

“Garm.” Misako walked over slowly with a smile. “Misako, please help me get this cat off me.”

“Yeah, sure.” Misako sighed dramatically. “I thought cats weren’t allowed on the couch.”

“She climbed up here herself!”

“Right.” Misako gently picked Sarabi up in her arms. “So she’s going back outside?”

“No! I mean… I don't care about her.” Garmadon crossed his arms. “I’m fine with letting her stay inside.”

“Okay.” Misako chuckled and placed Sarabi on the floor before returning to the room she shared with Garmadon.
