CHAPTER 1- Comming

"This was a bad idea," Garmadon groaned as he and his wife made their way to the docks.
"What? Bringing me along? Please don't tell me you planned to just disappear without saying a single word to your wife."
Misako hugged herself tighter. She regretted not taking a jacket with her. It was too cold for a summer night. Hugging Garmadon to get warmer was not an option.
"Of course not!" Garmadon bit his lip. "I just don't want you to see them! I don't want you to go to that cursed island. You know that's a possibility. I don't want them to hurt you." Garmadon exhailed hevily.
"And I want to be with my husband and son, no matter what. I'm tired of being scared for you while you two almost die."
"I know, but..." Garmadon sighed and gently pulled Misako closer as they continued walking. "You're cold."
"Mm." Misako sighed and leaned against him. She knew it was her husband's way of saying, I don't want to argue anymore. She accepted that, even if she felt she had every right to argue.
"Lloyd, wait!" Misako screamed and ran to her son.
"Mom? Dad?"
"Lloyd, if you go to that ship, you may never return!" Garmadon joined her.
Lloyd looked at them in surprise, his shoulders falling. "I must go. Zane is there, and he is family. You always say that we don't leave our family behind."
"Zane?!" Misako and Garmadon exchanged a look.
"How do you—"
"Oh, look. Isn't that Lord Garmadon?" a mocking voice said. "Or rather... Sensei Garmadon."
"Clouse," Garmadon growled. "I see Master Chen still has you running his errands."
The archaeologist's eyes met Clouse's. There was something so familiar about his face, something Misako couldn't quite place.
"Do I know him?" she whispered to her husband.
Clouse looked her up and down. Something glimmered in his eyes as they stared at each other.
"No." Garmadon bit his lip as he frowned, watching his old enemy observe his wife. "At least..."
"So, I assume this is your Misako?"
"Leave her alone!" Garmadon flinched and stepped in front of his wife. "She stays out of this! Like Lloyd and all of them!"
"Why so tense, Sensei? I just asked. Are you, perhaps, afraid that she'll find out things she won't be pleased with? Hmm?"
Garmadon clenched his fists, and Misako stared at him in shock. She had expected a reaction, but this was far too intense.
"What things?" Misako's eyes met Clouse's, and something glimmered in his eyes before it quickly disappeared.
"Not yet." Clouse spitted.
"Lloyd, Ninja... maybe it's better if we—" Misako just wanted to escape that strangely tense conversation that sent chills down her spine. And those chills weren't from the cold at all.
"No, Mum. Sorry, I need to go. For Zane."
"Then we're going too," Misako announced and tried to pass, but Garmadon caught her shoulders.
"There's no place. Wait. There is only one place on the boat." Clouse chuckled as he made his way onto the boat.
"I'm going," Garmadon declared firmly. "It's too dangerous. Misako, you need—"
"No way!" Misako turned and stared at Garmadon. She wanted to punch him in the face, but she knew she could never hurt him. She would just end up crying. Why was he pushing her away?
"She can go," Clouse said, giving her another strange look. "Misako only."
"No!" Garmadon roared and jumped to punch one of the servants off the deck.
"Shall we?".He unwillingly offered Misako his hand, and they climbed onto the boat.
"Don't worry, Clouse. We're not here to compete, only to look after our interests." Garmadon smiled and placed a hand on his son's shoulder.
~~~~~~
"I have a strong feeling that I know him," Misako sighed as she and Garmadon observed the other Elemental Masters.
"Hm... I don't know. I don't like the way he stares at you. I bet in his head he already has pictures of how to torture you."
"Garm—" Misako gently took his hand, she knew the way to calm her husband down.
"Please." Her husband sighed calmly, and that made Misako pause. He wasn't against her; he was just trying to protect her. "You know what's the worst part? They'll torture you and Lloyd, and the reason would be to hurt me. I can no longer watch you suffer for my past mistakes."Garmadon clenched her hand,his shoulders almost shaking.Almost.
"Garmadon, I—" Misako caught her husband's hand. Biting her lip, she glanced at Clouse. His eyes met hers, causing her to look away. "I have a feeling I should know him. And he looks at me like he knows me too."
"Well... he's from Buck. I mean, you look a lot like—"
"What's Buck?" Kai approached them, followed by all the ninja. "And care to explain how all of these people have elemental powers?"
"Kai,we'll explain everything,don't worry."Garmadon sighed.
Clouse was gone somewhere and Misako found herself searching for him in the crowd then she catched Garmadon staring at her.
~~~~~
"Yes. I'm sure that Misako is her."Clouse whispered, clenching the phone.
"Well, well, Clousy," Master Chen laughed maniacally through the phone. "What an interesting twist! Tell me, does she know about Garmadon's little secret?"
"She seems to have no idea."
"That's great. Then we have all the cards in our hands. While they focus on the tournament and Garmadon's past with us, they won't even notice how you and Misako are connected."Chen laughted.
~~~~~~
"Why are you two staring at each other like that?" Lloyd frowned. "How many things do we not know?!"
"Don't be so angry, Lloyd." Misako smiled sadly at him. She placed an arm around his shoulder, and he accepted the comfort. "Things come out in their own time. You'll find out what you need to know when the time is right. But—"
"To answer your question,Kai," Garmadon coughed and looked at the sea, "across the seas there are many kingdoms. Why those faces? Don't tell me you believed Ninjago was the only place in the world. There are plenty of other kingdoms and countries. The one we were talking about is called the Six Duchies. Buck is one of the duchies—the capital one. Clouse is from there."
"As am I," Misako smiled sadly. Lloyd stepped back from her.
"You're not from Ninjago?" Everyone looked at her with wide eyes.
"No." Misako chuckled. "When the time is right, I'll tell you more. But it's too dangerous here—"
"Mom!" Lloyd begged. "Dad?" Garmadon's eyes met Misako's, and he nodded.
"Now, to answer your questions about the other Elemental Masters Kai-"
Misako stopped listening to her husband and looked into the distance. Her home—or at least the place where she had been born and raised—was closer than usual. She sighed and closed her eyes, fighting both the good and horrible memories that came flooding back with her past. But one question troubled her. Who is Clouse?
"You good?"Garmadon placed an arm on Misako's shoulder.
"Yeah."Misako gently took his hand, which was trembling.
"You?" she barely whispered, looking into his troubled eyes.
"Hm." Garmadon bit his lip. "I swore never to return."
"You shouldn't swear. It's a sign of poor verbal skills." Jay suddenly appeared behind them.
Misako and Garmadon both shot him a warning look.
"Why have you—"Lloyd started to approach his parents, but Misako stopped him.
"Son, please. I know it's hard, but everything in its own time."
