When your Gameworldâs villain keeps destroying entire worlds, but you canât bring yourself to truly hate him because you remembered how sad he wasâŚpicked on and aloneâŚ
But hey, Fold canât really complain! I mean, all those people are dead now AND heâs got a hot kickass girlfriend so itâs a win all around!
Also I wanted to mess around with how fellow characters of the same âspeciesâ/model type would look! I imagine theyâre all somewhat unique and take upon many different shapes and sizes :)

Decided to draw what Fold wouldâve looked like when he was younger under my headcanons, along with young Scribble (She has a larval stage and goes through a metamorphoses so she looks goofy hehe)
Smaller chubbier lil Fold (When theyâre smaller their third finger isnât fully developed yet), then his more gangly youth years where heâs built like a beanpole, and then his adult years after heâs joined Syntax (bigger and more muscular from his rigorous training!)
Scribble, being a Utensil-Folk, is able to use her pencil hand to draw items into existence, and use her eraser hand to remove them! Larger items take far more concentration and energy, and tend to last shorter before they fade away. With the power of the Sketch-Core she shouldâve been able to create much larger and more powerful objects, practically anything that she can draw, but due to the core being linked to the planet, and the planet being gone, she is only given a large boost to her existing powers.
Fold, being a Canvas-Folk, is able to shape-shift and alter his body into any form, as long as he knows how to become said form and has enough paper/mass to achieve it. When in these forms heâs given certain buffs that correspond with them, such as moving faster, seeing farther, etc. When he had the power of the Sketch-Core he was able to achieve any form he desired, along with granting him even more abilities with each form. Unfortunately after being defeated and losing the Sketch-Core, he returned to his normal state/strength.
Extras:
1st, 2nd, and 3rd phase health bar icons for Fold
Scribbleâs design was inspired by my Pencil Sturbi skin in Creatures of Sonaria! (Thatâs why she looks fluffy! Though instead of having mini-pencil ears she has pencil shavings ears!)
Itâs called the Sketch-Core not only because sketching is typically the first way to get the idea for a creation down, but also because the core itself is SKETCHy, since the planet will literally explode when Scribble obtains itâŚ

Through the rubble she saw a large, looming silhouette, that was mostly obscured, but as the dust cleared she could see him more clearly. He had folded himself into a large wyvern, and she barely had a moment to process before he took to the sky and began to inhale, his mouth glowing black with the Sketch-Coreâs energy. If she had dodged even a millisecond later she wouldâve been completely fried by the sketch-beam that he fired, destroying everything it touched, including the floor. He swooped down to try and snap her up, but she was too nimble for him. He landed behind her and tried to bite her again, but only ripped away her backpack. He snarled and took to the air again, shooting out more beams and destroying more of the floor. It then dawned on her that she was running out of places to go, and that soon heâll be able to snatcher up with ease if she doesnât finish this soon. She looked for anything in the rubble to help her, but there seemed to be none. She was on her own now. She scanned the origami wyvern for any sort of weakness but found none. Any attack to his swinging tail merely bounced off his thick paper plating, same with his torso and legs. His wings would flare out when she got too close, knocking her to the ground and giving him an opportunity to strike. His head was not only where the beam came from, but was also full of razor sharp teeth! The neck wasâŚthe neck! It was merely a thin strip of paper bent around in a zig-zag shape! Now that she knew his weakness she just needed for him to landâŚ
When she finally saw him dive back down to the rubble after destroying even more of the stage she knew it was her chance. He landed behind her once more, and when he went in for a bite she rolled backwards and rose her sword high in the air before slicing it down upon his neck. His now disconnected head shrieked and hissed as the body began to unravel and become undone. When the paper finally settled she saw there, under the strips of paper, was the Sketch-Core.
She was just about to grab it when she heard a rustling behind her. Sheâd heard that the Canvas-Folk could reform their bodies (albeit smaller) as long as their heads were intact, but she had always assumed it was a myth. She watched as the dragon head unraveled and refolded itself back into his original form. Now the tables were turned, and he could do nothing but watch as she grabbed the Sketch-Core and claimed herself as the Guardian of the Realm!
She could feel the energy flowing through her as a beam of light enveloped her body! And when the light finally cleared she was ready to protect her continent from-!
Game Over (Scribble):
Beams of red erupted from the ground as the land shook and shuddered. The rest of the castle began to collapse forcing her to run and avoid the falling boulders. She tried to reach over and grab Fold, but a large piece of stone fell between the two, separated them. WHAT WAS HAPPENING?! She looked out at the continent, which was fully visible from this height and watched in horror as it was consumed in beams of red. She didnât even process the two odd looking people grabbing her and taking her into a strange contraption, nor did she even process the land shrinking away as the contraption took to the sky, to space, and to what lay beyond the GameWorld. Only one thought echoed through her head: âWas this my fault ?â
Game Over (Fold):
Fold on the other hand was more aware of what was happening, and tried to fight off his captors, but to no avail in his weakened state. He demanded to know where he was being taken, but received only a few chuckles as a response. When he arrived at the Syntax base of operations he was given Warrickâs offer, which he accepted. Due to his whole ability being to lead his hero to the win-condition, he quickly rose in the ranks of the Syntax Agents, eventually landing himself where he is now, third in command under Miss Information and Warrick. Oh yeah, and he totally thinks the whole planet exploding is Scribbleâs fault.
Once the light finally dimmed away she could see that he not only grew in size and gained an extra set of arms, but had also changed from a regular piece of paper to one that was golden on one side, making his new form glitter in the light. He began to try out a few of his newer, more powerful forms that he was able to achieve thanks to having a greater paper mass, before turning towards her. She couldnât do anything to defend herself when he turned one of his four arms into a tendril and grabbed her from across the open throne room, tossing her high into the air. He shouted âThanks for the help, idiot!â before punching her with two fists, sending her flying out of the throne room and down to the valley belowâŚ
When she hit the ground she couldnât help but feel so stupid. How could she have been tricked like that? Because she believed in the good in everyone? How foolish of herâŚShe lay on her back and dark clouds filled the sky, waiting to succumb to her woundsâŚ
Luckily she didnât, thanks to some inhabitants of a nearby village who saw her fall from the mountain. They helped to nurse her back to health, making sure to feed her plenty of sawdust bars to speed up the process. But even at full health she knew that she wouldnât be able to fight him, because she didnât know his weaknesses, and she didnât know how to even spot weaknesses to begin with! ButâŚshe could learnâŚShe decided to head to an uninhabited part of the continent that was full of beasts, where she spend the next few weeks training, learning, getting better and faster and stronger until she was ready to face himâŚShe trekked back up the mountain and entered the room where he sat upon the throne. She (literally) drew her sword, and with that the battle commenced.
Phase 1:
He quickly turned his arms into tendrils and began to whip at her, which she swiftly parried with her sword. After a few minutes of attacking and none landing, he decided to change his approach, switching out his whips for blades and rushing directly at her. She barely had time to draw herself a shield before the four blades came striking down at her. This went on for a few more minutes, of him attacking and her defending. He growled in his growing rage before folding himself into a large hammer-like object and attempting to slam down upon her. Luckily she was quick on her feet and managed to roll away to safety. She noticed how long it took him to shift back to his normal form after that attack, and realized that must be a vulnerability! They repeated this scuffle, and when he began to turn back to his normal form again she ran over and sunk her blade into his back, causing him to shriek in pain as purple blood spurted out. His health bar dipped by a considerable amount, losing almost a third of his health. He reached back and quickly threw her off, pulling out the sword lodged between his shoulders. She repeated this twice more before his health bar dropped to zero, causing his paper form to writhe and change as his health bar once again refilled, with his eye icon looking noticeably more enraged.
Phase 2:
He changed between more animalistic forms to attack her, using a scorpion to pinch and sting, a wolf to pounce, and a rhino to charge. This was much harder than before, but she endured, ducking under claws and avoiding snapping jaws. It was the rhino form that caught her attention though. Once he got moving he couldnât stop or turn in time to avoid the walls, crashing right into them. Thatâs when she noticed the four pillars in the room, each one holding up a flaming basin meant to light the room at night, along with supporting the ceiling. She knew what to do. The next time he became a rhino she successfully baited him into ramming the pillar, dropping flaming coals onto his back. His health dropped by a fourth, and her stomach dropped as she realized she would have to do this with every pillar in the room. How was she going to get him to do it again, let alone three more times?! As it turned out it was far easier than sheâd expected, as all she needed to do was mock and annoy him for him to fly into blind rage and ram another pillar. Finally the fourth pillar fell and his health dropped to zero once more before refilling again, looking even more enraged. The ceiling, no longer being supported, promptly collapsed and filled the room with rubble, obscuring her vision in a cloud of dust.
