Fic authors self rec! When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you've written, then pass on to at least five other writers. Letās spread the self-love š
Thanks a lot for the ask, @asneakyobserver! ā¤ļø But this is a really difficult question. There are so many fics to choose from by now, it's very hard to pick just five favs š. So here are five fics of mine that I like a lot, but there are quite a few others that I don't like any less.
As I loved the Hansa in S4, here are two rather recent S4 Hansa fics:
1. To kiss or not to kiss:
5 times Cahir wants to kiss Milva and doesn't, and 1 time Milva wants to kiss Cahir and does.
Words: 47,798; Chapters: 7/7; adventure; Hansa friendship; mostly follows S4 from Cahir's POV with added missing scenes
2. A Monster Came A-flying:
"I need to kill Geralt of Rivia."
After having deserted from Queen Meve's army, the Hansa finally find themselves on the south side of the Yaruga, intending to seek help from the druids of Caed Dhu. Only, the druids have left the area, and something is hot on their trail - something large and brutish with a singular goal: Kill Geralt of Rivia.
Words: 17,717; Chapters: 5/5; adventure; Hansa friendship; post S4; whump; hurt/comfort; Cahir/Milva, angst and fluff
Also I enjoyed writing this one together with @averbienque a lot and love how it turned out. And it was so funny when S4 came out that in E7 they kind of do the same thing as in our fic, namely travel through Ysgith (not my idea though, but @averbienque's).
3. Ysgith:
Geralt and his company stick to the original plan and travel through the Ysgith wilderness. Maybe not such a good idea after all ...
Words: 31,755; Chapters: 11/11; adventure; Hansa friendship; monsters; whump; hurt/comfort, angst and fluff
Then it's getting really hard to choose. Maybe, because it was the hardest to write, my Choose-your-own-adventure-fic
4. Something Moving In The Shadows
On their way to rescue Ciri, Geralt and his Hansa come by the ruin of an old castle. It is a bit eerie, but should they stay the night there anyway or rather move on toward the forest? You decide!
Words: 65,428; Chapters: 52/52; adventure; Hansa friendship; monsters; whump; hurt/comfort, angst and fluff; Stygga; happy or tragic endings depending on the paths you choose.
And, perhaps, last but not least let's not forget Gallatin. It was a bit sad that he wasn't mentioned in S4 at all.
5. Earned Loyalty
"Don't move, elf. I'm not done yet," says the stranger who is bending over him when he opens his eyes with a pained groan. What the fuck is the man doing? And who is that guy? He blinks, trying to focus. The blurry image sharpens. No, he has never seen him before, Gallatin is certain of it. Alarmed, he tries to sit up, but the stranger presses him back onto something soft that must be lying under his head.
"I said, don't move," he commands. "You need more stitches."
After having been ambushed by humans, Gallatin is seriously wounded. Lucky for him, not all humans hate elves. It's not all that easy for young commander Cahir aep Ceallach to fulfil his dangerous mission in the Nazairean highlands either, and he is sorely short of men. - This is the story of how Gallatin and Cahir meet for the first time. (Set shortly after Emhyr defeated the Usurper in 1260.)
Words: 38,419; Chapters: 17/17; adventure; friendship; whump; hurt/comfort
There's a lot more, also plenty of one-shots, humour, some smut and dead doves.
