#jackedkirby - The Sentinel of the Spaceways... The Silver Surfer!!! 🏄🏻‍♂️🏄🏻‍♂️🏄🏻‍♂️ While #Issue48 through #Issue50 of the Fantastic Four are known as the “Galactus Trilogy” due to the big bad in the story, there was an introduction to another character that has become a staple in the Marvel Comics Universe in there as well... The Silver Surfer!!! 🏄🏻‍♂️🏄🏻‍♂️🏄🏻‍♂️ Norrin Radd aka The Silver Surfer First appears in #Issue48 of the FF way back in March of 1966. Kirby felt that if you were going to have a godlike villain like Galactus threatening to eat the world, he should have a HERALD to announce his arrival. He developed the silvered bodied alien to be just that... and had him riding atop a flying Surf board to boot!!! 🏄🏻‍♂️🏄🏻‍♂️🏄🏻‍♂️ Aesthetics aside, The Silver Surfer is a very complex character and over the years Jack & Stan (as well as others like John Buscema and others) developed his backstory and characteristics to make him one of the most complex and appealing characters in the whole Marvel Universe! 🏄🏻‍♂️🏄🏻‍♂️🏄🏻‍♂️ At the bottom of page 7 (the first pic) we see him kind of appear in the frame out of the thin air... and on the next page (the third pic) we see a more detailed shot of him!
