Hawkmoth shouldn't have shown his face. He should have showed up later pretending to be a hero too. Supposedly a more experienced hero ready to take the lead in defeating hawkmoth. It could lower their guard and be an interesting way to introduce the villain to the heroes.
An au where Gabriel, and Nathalie are the good guys and marinette, and Adrian are the villains.
Everything else is the same except since Marinette is blindly in love with Adrian she listens to adrien whom only wants to bring his mother back.
Gabriel lost his wife and misses her greatly, uses his miraculous as a hero trying to stop these punks spreading terror on the streets. But is too weak to combat both of these clever children at once and has to recruit his assistant Nathalie in order to defeat them. But everytime they almost achieve the task of retrieving the miraculous' the children recruit another of their own. Marinette being more and more conflicted with her emotions stole the miracle box from master fu who if you ask me is a very poor judge of character. Gabriel trying to keep his son safe by being hawkmoth takes away some closeness with his son. As well as some time but he still tries very hard to spend one on one time with Adrian and his son seems to be getting further from him. Saying that he doesn't and can't understand. Lila and felix become the fox, and turtle miraculous. Staging themselves as heroes to the public but being just another front to fight on for the genuine heroes.
