FFVII community really need to learn some fandom etiquette, like if you want to rail against a ship or a character you have to use the anti tag, not the tag of that ship/character. This is the bare minimum. I don't want to scroll the Clerith tag only to find the third-one copy-pasted analysis from CT and ZA on Aerith and Cloud date and how they don't work as a couple. I don't care, we, in the CA tag, don't care. Stay in your circle, is not that difficoult
HOW ARE WE FEELING ABOUT THE FFVII REBIRTH TRAILER?!?!

The second option to save the Planet at the cost of Sephiroth’s life
Aerith disapproves Sephiroth’s ending.
After destroying Harbinger, they freed themselves from the original Fate and opened a path to the new future. The world of seven seconds before the Apocalypse.
Meteor was summoned by Jenova to destroy the Planet, Holy was summoned by Aerith (thanks to the White Materia) to stop Meteor but failed. The real Sephiroth stops it, saving the Planet at the cost of his sanity; he falls under the influence of Whispers, becoming one with them. When the ‘boss battle’ begins, he serves only one purpose — to defend Destiny against which he was fighting before.
The Lifestream will never come to help, because Aerith who can control it after her ‘Reunion with the Planet’, will stay alive. At least in Sephiroth’s ending.
After defeating the present Sephiroth in this future, Destiny teleported them back in their own time, where everything that just happened does not yet exist, including Sephiroth’s new-found madness.
His death came from the sky just like Aerith’s came in her option of an ending — a circle of light above them carries the same meaning (no wonder that she says in JP “The sky… I hate it”). The light was above her in the Forgotten City, when she was praying, and then the sword pierced through her body. And here we have Sephiroth who met his death also from the sword. You know what this smile was about — Aerith was smiling before her death too:
That was very powerful.
The blood in this game was replaced with Whisper’s mist (when the President was pierced, there was a small mist which usually appears from Whisper, and Whisper is a soul in this game).
Nomura: For Aerith, the sky symbolizes sadness. The people who were dear to her, such as Zack and her mother Ifalna, were both taken away to the sky (FFVII Remake Ultimania Book) [x]
She cares for Sephiroth too, considering that she knows about his plan; she told before the portal almost everything about his character (French and Japanese make it clear). He wants to save her from Jenova, even ready to sacrifice his own life to save the Planet instead of her. He doesn’t really want to die, as he said at the Edge, but he also doesn’t want to make -someone- disappear (I guess that’s why he called this place ‘edge’). Aerith doesn’t want for him to die and, by trying to convince you earlier that he is the real enemy and should be stopped, she wants to save him from his death in the sky, which Whispers will bring upon him like a judgement that Destiny can’t be changed by anyone (though he actually managed to change it, it changed him in turn). She doesn’t want to risk her friends, when fate demands only her death. Sephiroth perfectly understands her, but Meteor and Jenova is his business, not hers. And while Aerith accepts the inevitable and calls him wrong, Sephiroth believes in the opportunity to win (in the third option of an ending) and keeps his composure, not getting into a complete argument with her.
Realism (Aerith) vs Idealism (Sephiroth). He was always that way if you remember how he wanted to bring justice upon human race and rule this Planet after he accepted Jenova. In the Remake the real Sephiroth was separated from her after his fall into the Lifestream in Nibelheim, but that’s another long story. And now he believes that everything can be saved if Cloud, an ordinary human that happened to be injected with S-cells and not go crazy from it, will help him. Aerith holds on to the same principles she had in the original story — she believes that she’s the only one who can save the Planet from Meteor because of her Cetra’s abilities. Cloud did nothing good with Meteor in the original; it was him who brought the Black Materia to Jenova when he couldn’t resist her influence anymore. In the end he didn’t stop it, he just watched how this thing lands on the Planet, and then the Lifestream (Aerith summoned it after her death) came and saved everything. But now we have Sephiroth, who looks at Cloud this sad way when he holds his wrist as if stopping him and saying “you know it’ll be your fault too when you surrender, as I once did, so stand by my side and be responsible for your actions”.
Cloud is the only one who can help him to stop the Apocalypse without any sacrifices because of his strength (the S-cells) and strong mind which is capable to resist Jenova. That will be the third option of an ending. But for now, he can’t help because he doesn’t understand anything.
The main point of why Sephiroth is keeping mystery about his purposes and not talking with Cloud in a straightforward way, even when he really needs help, is to not lay out his plans before Jenova which lives inside Cloud’s mind like some sort of spy. Sephiroth can’t help him to erase her influence, because it’s only his fight. Jenova is still strong in him, so if he reveals the truth earlier, she will take him under her control. In such circumstances no one will help Sephiroth to stop Meteor. Cloud defeats her only in the end of the original, when Meteor is already falling on the Planet, so there will be a very limited amount of time for him to understand what he should do.
…
Holy Sephiroth… this purple light of power looked like his beating heart.
Oh my god, that makeup! And that dress! Nailed it, I know. Thank you. Moving on.
He. Ditched. Her. Twice.
My mistake.
He. Ditched. Her. Three. Times.
