I ran out of time to do a journal entry yesterday so here it is.
Yesterday I finished Mistborn The Alloy of Law. Which I will gush about at the end so I can put up a spoiler wall.
Last night was my Institute of Religion class and it was pretty good. I got to talk to my girlfriend for a bit; but I feel bad because she had to leave early and I didn't have that much time to talk with her and my time was mainly talking with friends. Which I know is something I shouldn't feel bad about, it's just that I would have preferred to spend time with her; but didn't know she'd be leaving early. So it's more of a feeling of fomo than anything.
Anyways before class I was talking to a friend about DND and trying to convince him into joining my DND campaign. After class I talked to another friend and the Mistborn book I just finished along with other books and DND.
Spoilers for Mistborn The Alloy of Law
First and foremost OH MY GOSH MASH IS STILL ALIVE! WHY WON'T HE JUST DIE! Anyways it was pretty good I enjoyed it being lower stakes then the prior books in the series it gives me some time to breathe for all that happened in era 1 while building on the world. You see the finger prints of the original trilogy all over; for example Sazed having a religion, the city being named after Elend, Ruin being a cuss word, Straff and Venture being last names, Citizen being a brand of segars, and more.
I did enjoy being able to predict a few things in the book. I was able to predict Miles being the same religion as Taner from the beginning of the book, because they both seemed to care about spectical and putting on a show to the extent it almost a cult like obsession. I also predicted the utility of Marasi's Allomancy being used to stall for time. There was one prediction I got wrong though and that was that I thought Marasi was going to be a spy for the bad guys then choose to help Wax; but hey you can't win them all.
Any whozlel all the characters were. Even Miles was a very enjoyable villain; but I have to say my favorite character was Wayne. He is just such a fun character and I think this is one of the times I can say the audio book is probably better because the narrator changes accents as Wayne does it.
I will say it's not as good as the original series; but never the less it's a purity fun book and I'm excited to see what happens next in the series P.S. how do you get Koloss ancestry they don't reproduce like that?

Still catching up on my journal. So what happened last Thursday?
I continued listening to Mistborn till I got to the last hour of the audio book so I can listen to it at home.
I started raining hard the last hour of work; but I didn't mind in fact I love the rain. This did become a problem later because we couldn't work in the rain. So we cleaned up the machines back at the shop and me being bright decided to clean the grass build up from underneath the mower deck. Now what was wrong about this and how does this play into the rain. Well to clean the mower deck you have to be underneath it so I scratched off the grass, the grass fell and got stuck on me because of how wet I was. Which caused me to be itchy for the rest of the workday till I could get home and take a shower.
My girlfriend's birthday is coming up and I was thinking about getting her the game Cult Following. It's something she talked about playing for a little while now and so I decided to get that for her; but then I found out it was out of print. So I asked her brother if he has any suggestions and he said " that's a good question" and that was the extent of what he said. I decided to continue my hunt and found a gently used one on eBay, so I committed and got that for her.
That evening I got myself an ice cream sandwich and laid down on the floor and looked up at the ceiling as I listened to the last of era 1 Mistborn and it was amazing. The rest of this post will be spoilers for the original Mistborn trilogy.
The Mistborn trilogy sets up the story with the promise that a thieving crew was going to kill a god and it delivered. Of course in the first book there intention was to end The Lord Ruler which they saw as god but they pulled back a bit. Of course The Lord Ruler wasn't god Kelsire said this in the first book; but over the course they did eventually kill Desolation who was (a) god of this world.
Something that I love about this series gives us a lot of questions and we don't have all the pieces of the puzzle to figure everything out and as soon as one part is figured out and think we're done the book gives us more and gosh darn it is satisfying when it gives us the answers. Everything felt intentional.
I would like to say the best part of the books are the characters. They are so well done rememberable every single character is fun and I love them all ( except Srtaff I was so happy then he died and ceremoniously ). If I had to pick out a to 5 favorite character I would have to say Vin, Elend, Breeze, Sazed, and Allrianne.
Overall it was an amazing book. And overall today was a pretty good day.
Today I trimmed a bush while listening to the third Mistborn book. It was pretty nice.
Tonight I volunteered at the temple and one of my friends that recently got married was giving me advice for when I eventually go ring shopping/ wedding planning. I also talked to some of my other friends throughout the shift as well.
I don't have all too much detail to take about with my day; but it's suffices to say that today was pretty good
Alright last night I ran out of time to do my diary entry so here it is.
So yesterday was independents day and I went to my girlfriend's family BBQ. I got destroyed in a game called Nerts. I also drew some of my OC's to submit to Art Fight.
After the BBQ I went home and made myself a bowl of pasta. While I was making the pasta my friend came by and I helped him work on his DND character. He decided to play as a human rogue.
Following this I finished drawing my OC's and submitted them to Art Fight.

Overall today was a good day. The highlight of my day was spending time with my girlfriend.
Still playing catch up on my journal. What happened Saturday?
Saturday me and my girlfriend had a date that morning. Our date plan was a hike and it was quite enjoyable for about a half an hour to an hour; when it started to rain. So we scrambled for a plan b and on a whim we went to a cheap store to make fun of some stupid stuff we found. It was surprisingly fun, I would definitely recommend it if you and your partner have a good sense of humor.

Afterwards we went to Wendy's and had lunch and just talked for a while. Afterwards we went to Walmart because she needed some duck tape for her car. We all talked for a while about homes and what we want our future house to be like.
Then I drove her back to her house and on the way there we talked about wedding planning.

After I went to church I went to my girlfriend's ward because they had a linger longer. So we had some snacks and I caught up with some friends that go to that ward. BTW a linger longer is when there's a treats or a meal after church to encourage people to socialize.
Anyways me and my girlfriend then went to a devotional for those who volunteer at the temple. It was pretty nice and there was some good talks and it was nice being there with my girlfriend. A bunch of my friends were also there and I got to show off my girlfriend.
Overall today was a pretty darn good day; but yet it's always a good day when I'm with my girlfriend.
Today when I was doing the lawns at one of the elementary schools and there was a bunch of chalk art done by kids and I mean it took up all the bus parking. He photos of the highlights.
After work, my girlfriend and I went on our date. We got some Wendy's went to the temple and we started watching Nasicaa The Valley of the Wind; but had to call it short cuz it was getting late. For our next day we are planning on finishing Nasicaa and Suzume.
I also read a tad more of And Then There Were None. Still pretty good. This also sparked discussion about dark nursery rhymes on our date because of the poem that's in it. Which was fun.
