Random Thoughts
I was just having some, so decided to put it down.
First season craze?
I don’t know why, but I always tend to like the first season of the anime shows I like the most (in case they have more than one season). For example, in Fruits Basket, I watched every episode with excitement each week, and didn’t overthink about it a lot. Be it their comedy or sweet moments, life lessons or the value of friendship, every scene was worth something to enjoy. But, I found out this curiosity and excitement of mine to fade by end of season 2... Maybe one major reason could be the formation of romantic relationships of each character. Also, regarding the plot, I started to think about a lot of things when each episode ended. Even though I am not like this anymore, still I think the cause of this was the anime starting to get more intense in the plot, which needed me to step out of my comfort zone.
The same case goes for IDOLiSH7. When I discovered this anime in my sophomore year, I was over the moon to have found such a masterpiece. The way the boys start to form the group, their initial struggles, and a rival group standing against them, it was not much to the plate and put my breath on hold at some situations. Now that season 3 is airing, I am not complaining but, somehow, things have got way more twisty than what I had expected. 4 major groups, each having their own problem, i7 guys suffering in between, can get your attention and curiosity a lot, but will sure make you end up having a pep talk with yourself afterwards.
Now that I think about it, another probability pops in the mind, i.e. maybe I wanted the story to be only based on the main characters? In other words, introducing new characters and their past was a lot to take in suddenly? Or another one could be I enjoyed the initial year of my high school life growing up with these special shows. (Yeah, that’s right, I discovered both these masterpieces on the same day. IDOLiSH7 had been aired, and Fruits Basket was in the 5th episode.) But anyways, this is sure to bring back a lot of memories in the future, like it did now.
2. Second Lead Syndrome
The character I like end up as second lead. Well, well. Who wouldn’t have chosen Yuki in Fruits Basket as an anime viewer, as he had such an aura during his first appearance? Same goes for a character from the anime Ore Monogatari!!! (My Love Story!!!), i.e. Makoto Sunakawa. They both are very fine characters and care about other a whole lot. A huge coincidence is that both characters have the same voice actor, Nobunaga Shimazaki-san. I don’t know if this counts as fate, but I tend to lean my attention to the second leads, and he is also mostly provided those types of characters to voice. Although Yuki finds happiness with Machi at last, the same does not happen with Makoto. He just decides to stay single and support his friend from sidelines. It’s confirmed, I definitely have a second lead syndrome.
Ahh, feeling so light!! Sorry and thank you to the readers if you reached upto this line of my blabbering. But it sure feels amazing once something is sorted out. I would love to listen to your thoughts, so drop by!
