i noticed there's nothing for stress on the hermit horror au. may i suggest- she literally feeds off the stress and terror caused by the other hermits. she won't kill you outright, and might help you escape if you're too brave to provide a good meal, but if you're the more cowardly type shell keep you alive in that hellscape as long as she can, to feed off your suffering.

In this case, being a coward will save you from death and taking initiative will be your downfall. She has no use for people that doesn't provide her food, they take up too much space and time and she'll let the other hermits have their fun with them. But the others? Those are hers to play with and to feed on. Eventually, when they're too drained of stress and become dull, she'll toss them to the other hermits and find another victim.
