Totally random, but I've been watching natalia osipova's early performances with the bolshoi and I have to say I haven't seen any other ballerina pull off such crazy turning-fouette combos! She is so fast and on music. Truly a legend! Which ballerinas do you think can pull of the craziest fouettes?
Ah! The fuette! I could easily go down a rabbit hole comparing and contrasting, but for the sake of my limited time, I'm just going off top of mind. Tamara Rojo really stands out to me - so fast, on a perfect axis, turns on a dime and to the music on top of it all.
I also recently saw Maria Bulanova's Black Swan PDD during a Divertissement Evening. I didn't care for her approach to Odile, but she really went for the fuettes doing several a la seconde.
But if you do want to go down the rabbit hole…check out this video by Ken Becker. He really breaks down technique with examples. I really like Gillian Murphy's fuettes: classy, clean, and perfectly musical.
