Clogs - 5/4 live at LSO, St Luke's, London, 7th May 2011. I am one of the very few people left in the audience for what was an absolutely wonderful concert that I'd waited so long to see and hear. Sadly it ran over and was in competition with Brian Eno's Music For Airports being performed in another venue at the same time, hence the lack of audience. It had been full half an hour earlier for the world premier of Bryce Dessner's Tenebre by Kronos Quartet and recorded vocals from Sufjan Stevens.
Please don't make me wait another four years for a Clogs show (is it even called a show?) in the UK. Apparently he's doing something for the Berlin Symphony Orchestra next year. I've always wanted to go to Berlin.
I love that they have a video of an interview with Aaron on the page. Especially considering they currently look nothing like each other. Well be identical twins standards anyway.

The Guardian profiles Nico Mulhy who I had the privilege of hearing play last month. Is there nothing man can't do? Apparently yes "oh no, Nico can't sing" is one of the funniest things I've ever heard come out of Bryce's mouth. I'd never of started listening to this kind of thing if it wasn't for Bryce and Richard Reed Parry though. So massive thanks to them for opening my ears.
And Nico, I'm very sorry about our lack of laundrette's. We go in for washing machines in our homes.

So, this time next week I will have seen Clogs play twice including a world premier of a string quartet that Bryce has written for The Kronos Quartet, commissioned by The Barbican. So a bit prestigious then. And very exciting.
The podcast is great, as well as Bryce speaking about his work with Clogs, the influence of Reich and some of what they'll be playing next weekend, Reich himself also speaks about the increasing influence and importance as Bryce as a composer.
And of course it just so happens that a certain Mr Stevens will be in the country...
