Bruce playing with the E Street Band at the Apollo in Harlem last night.
Doing stuff like this even though he's 62 is a big part of the reason I love him.
New (to me) music Sunday
It's been ages since I've spent a Sunday in my room listening to music. I've spent today in the company of:
Feist's Metals
St Vincent's Strange Mercy
Kurt Vile's Childish Prodigy
Phillip Glass' Einstein On the Beach
Wilco's The Whole Love
Girls' Father, Son, Holy Ghost
James Blake's Enough Thunder
Some people may think that a waste of a day. I can't think of a better way to spend it.
A piece of paper, some gaffer tape and a pick
And in non riot related news...
Currently none of The National's albums appear to have been reviewed....

Pitchfork reports on labels that have suffered heavy losses including Beggars Group.
There are also widespread reports of severe damage to Afflecks Palace in Manchester, the indie capital of North West England and the place where I bought so many of the songs that changed my life when I was a teenager. Absolutely gutted.
These are the labels that have put out records that have changed your life. Please buy a digital release from them today or even better go to the label or band website and buy a hard copy directly from them if they still have any left. This way the label will get the biggest possible percentage from the sale.
These are hard times for independent labels, many of them are struggling to survive. The fire in Enfield last night made that struggle so, so much harder.
I have bought the Washed Out album.
Thank You.

At the moment I'd give this a 6/10. Will raise to an 8 if and when I get my shit/the money together to decide and act upon whether I'm going to the Jeff Mangum or Battles/Caribou/Les Savvy Fav ATP in December. Horrible, Horrible decision.
