Even as Beth woke up, she didnโt dare move a muscle or open her eyes. She knew that as soon as she did, it would be like a trigger to her body to remind her why that last round of shots, or the last three rounds of shots, sheโd had with her friends last night had been a bad idea. Sure that if she just lay there with her eyes closed sheโd eventually fall asleep again, Beth stayed still. It was only then that she realised that she was hot, too hot, that there was a weird tickle on her hand and an almighty throbbing in her head. Before she could speak, a loud bark sounded from the side of the bed. Jumping, the blonde sat up, her hair everywhere as she opened her eyes to look at her dog.ย โWhy do you hate me?โย
Her eyes followed the Dalmatian as she trotted back out of her ownerโs bedroom, happy that she was awake and breakfast might not be far away. Looking down at herself, still dressed in last nightโs clothes, she finally caught sight of why she was so warm. It had turned into a little tradition, something she was sure was annoying for him. She had gotten too drunk at his bar, finally letting her hair down for the night after the stress of the last couple of weeks. As always, Gabe had brought her home and heโd platonically stayed over. Looking down at Gabe, Beth slowly lay back down.ย โGod, youโre like a damn furnace.โ Resting a hand on her forehead, Beth blew out a deep breath. Hearing another bark from down the hall, the blonde groaned.ย โThe only reason that dog hasnโt eaten me yet is because sheโs figured out that I keep Ellie alive.โ Glancing back to Gabe, Beth winced.ย โDo I even want to remember how much I drank last night?โ
