At my corporate job I had to use CatiaV5 for normal CAD but I worked with a lot of FEA meshes, for which I used Ansa.
At my FSAE-Team we used different tools from Ansys Design for quick modeling and simulation and Siemens NX (1899, I think?) for the whole car assembly. It was a mess though since people from different departments worked on the car so also some Creo exports and CatiaV5 models were sneakily added to the assemblies. Which made it extremely frustrating to work with since its basically dead geometry and I was responsible for the aero assembly.
