UH BUH OK HERE WE GO

BEVERLY COMES FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF REASON, NJ (where the story takes place) BUT IS FORCED TO TRANSFER TO ORVILLE’S SCHOOL DUE TO SOME BULLSHIT ABOUT SCHOOL ZONES AFTER THEY MOVE. ORVILLE CONVENIENTLY LIVES WITHIN A FEW HOUSES FROM HER. TURNS OUT THEY SPECIFICALLY THREW A BITCH-FIT ABOUT THIS IN THE HOPES THAT WHEN SHE TRANSFERRED IN FOR HER SENIOR YEAR SHE’D BE ON THEIR SOFTBALL TEAM BECAUSE SHE’S AN AMAZING PITCHER.

ORVILLE WORRIES ABOUT HIS PARENTS MORE THAN HE PROBABLY SHOULD. IS SLIGHT RELIGIOUS BECAUSE HIS DAD IS A RECOVERING NOSFERATU (basically bad vampire that eats people) AND WHILE HIS DAD HASN’T HAD HUMAN BLOOD IN DECADES, ORVILLE STILL WORRIES HE MIGHT GO TO HELL WHEN HE DIES. ORVILLE WORRIES ABOUT HIS MOM BECAUSE SHE CAN’T VISIT HER PARENTS LIKE A “NORMAL” PERSON (they still live in a zoo as bats) OR AUSTRALIA AGAIN WITHOUT WORRY OF RETALIATION BY AUSSIE RACISTS AGAINST ABORIGINAL AUSTRALIANS.

Sorry, been trying to nail the looks of these guys down and it's been pretty hard but I think these are about as close as I'll ever get to perfect.

Also I don't know how eyeshadow works. >_>;;

Felix Vladislaus (Transylvanian/Vampire Bat) and Lupita MacTire (American/African-Irish/Wolf), the co-owners of the All Night Stand, a food stand that's open 24 hours a day. You can probably guess which one has the night shift and who has the day shift.

I'm honestly not sure how to describe Felix and I can't go into too much of his background without giving away spoilers, but I guess the best way to describe him is as a transvestite with no preferred pronouns (you can call him/her/they/etc whichever you like). I would say genderfluid but I'm not sure that's correct either. Basically he likes to crossdress not for any kinky need or anything there are just some days he feels like a man or a woman or neither. Feel free to correct me if I'm way-the-hell off with him.

I was going to steer away from naming Lupita after any obvious wolf-ish names but after Oscar night I was like FUCK IT THE NAME'S AWESOME. She really likes the color blue, can you tell? I can't decide if that's her natural eye color or contacts.

My favorite background/supporting character background couple is...Bela Bárány and Edwin Lennard, the obvious Twilight-reference characters.

That said, they will most certainly NOT be one-note/one-shot characters because

1. They will have actual personalities and shit

2. I intend for them to appear and interact with the main characters more than once

and most importantly

3. They will be the center of a future storyarc

Also their last names (respectfully) mean "lamb" and "lion"

Realized I haven't uploaded much in awhile, so have some character busts of background and not-so-background characters (as of the first Fruitpire storyarc anyway). Still working on a few more, may get to my favorite background "couple" tonight if I'm not too lazy.

The main characters of the soon-to-be webcomic Fruitpire!

Beverly Dumont is our 100% human character who gets dragged into a world of mythic, magical, mysterious, and sometimes straight up macabre hi-jinks she never knew existed. Tends to take everything with a grain of salt.

Orville Donaghy is our eponymous fruipitre, being a rare-and-considered-impossible flying fox/vampire bat hybrid. Tries to keep to himself but manages to get dragged into random situations by his inexplicable best friend, Dante.

Dante is a wild vampire bat who "attends" the local college to get a taste of human life. Your typical extrovert looking to experience life while he can. Has a pet goat named Ghot that he claims is only a reserve source of food but that doesn't explain why he taught her how to catch a frisbee and has a special bed just for her.
