the fruiting tree
Wild #pleurotuseryngii or King Oysters or King Trumpets. Whatever you call them, they grow here. They're smaller because it's been dry as a bone here, droughts even in fall. Olive growers are biting their nails and praying for water. But the mycelium persists, the frosts, morning dew and little rain that's being given to us, is enough for that mycelium to push up #fruitingbodies to mature and disperse #spores far and wide for the sake and prospect for future generations. Water makes it all possible. Always and forever. Water is life. Protect it. #smugtownmushrooms #kingtrumpets #greece #prespalake #makedonia #hellas #mikriprespa #pyli #wildmushrooms #wildfoodlove #fungi #mycology #mycelium #radicalmycology #foragedfinds #love

... the shack ...
I’m all about that baste.
Excited to announce the inclusion of two works in Fruiting Bodies, an exhibition running from Saturday 3rd Dec through to Monday 13th December, 11am - 5pm at Ridgebank Contemporary Art Space, Kington, Herefordshire. The exhibition has been curated by Caroline Lisa Allen as a response to discovering dry-rot (Serpula lacrymans) in the exhibition space she has beautifully created in the former Kington & Radnorshire Bank - later Midland/HSBC - a handsome building in the town centre. Rather than catastrophising, Caroline sought to make a virtue of necessity, mounting this exhibition of artists’ responses to the theme of Fruiting Bodies, little crying snakes and all others. Beyond Kington, Ridgebank is a bold and welcome intervention for Herefordshire. @fruitingbodies2022 @ridgebank #contemporaryart #contemporaryartpractice #exhibition #fruitingbodies #serpulalacrymans #gallery #artspace (at RidgeBank Gallery) https://www.instagram.com/p/Ck0Nd31ID6d/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
