Not pictured: the juvenile bald eagle that the pair in the last picture were supervising, the 5 or 6 belted kingfishers we saw, and the Atlantic stingray we made friends with that kept visiting our beached kayak.
(I was not brave enough to bring my camera on the kayak so these were taken on mine and my partnerâs cellphones)

â Â -Showing up unexpectedly at their place of work
The flower shop was nearly deserted, except for one or two other people. Pamela swiped her forearm past her brow as she finished lugging a sack of fertilizer from the back and dropped it between two of the tables. It wouldnât have been that strenuous an activity, but she had spent all day moving around some of her larger pots, plus cleaning the bathroom from top to bottom. It was beginning to deplete her energy reserves.
When she straightened back up, she found herself staring at someone she never expected to see on the inside of that shop.
âLouise?â
âDid you know Harley knows where you work? She doesnât know her own address, but she knows this place.â Louise awkwardly stood there, unable to help but smile at the woman. She had wanted to drop by to check on Pamela, and without thinking.. she did.
The expression of confusion instantly clarified into one of joy. Then Pamela cleared her throat as she stretched, trying not to give away in her face just how excited she was to see her frosty friend. It was probably too late for that, though.
âIsnât it hilariously sad? Sheâs a collection of random facts; if it doesnât have to do with what she went to university for, itâs really a fifty-fifty shot whether or not she knows something.â

@killerfrostythesnowbitch :
   It was shark week, and Harley demand all of the sirens to watch Jaws with her. However Selina was lucky enough to escape from Gotham, so that left with plan B.. Frosty. She could make them free ice cream, much better than Selina in Harleyâs books.    And so, Louise was dragged in and ended up sticking around- Jaws wasnât a bad movie, even with Harleyâs commentary. However, that was in till the end.. where the shark ended up being blowed up, and Louise had a flashback to when she and Harley broke into Arkham, and were getting their neck bombs defused.. King Sharkâs had too thick skin, the Riddler did not count for that and.. His head did the same thing as this sharkâs.
   Feeling tears escaping down her cheeks, Louise quickly excused herself to go to the bathroom.
Not long after, Pamela managed to break away from Harley to knock on the door. She had seen the stricken expression and heard the quaver in her voice, even if the pigtailed blonde didnât catch it. Maybe she thought Jaws was an odd movie to get emotional over... but she had an inkling it had something to do with a certain former paramour.
âLouise? You alright in there?â

[ Send me a đ for a Valentineâs day starter! ]
When Louise walked into her apartment that evening, it was like a completely different place. Rose petals were scattered across the floor, and gentle tones of spanish guitar floated from somewhere. Something in the kitchen smelled wonderful. The lights were out, but candles flickered on a multitude of surfaces.
Seated on the couch was Pamela, hair in an elegant bun with curly locks resting just in front of her ears. She wasnât nude, as might have been worth expecting given how everything else looked, but her rich burgundy-hued dress did look silky soft, and it was the only thing she was wearing. Two bowls of steaming pasta sat on the table, and a bottle of wine between two glasses that had already been poured.
âWelcome home, Valentine.â

The last thing Louise thought was all this was done for her, and as she stepped further inside she felt her stomach knot and her face pale. Was she walking in on Pamela's date? But she said she had something important to tell her.. However the worried look soon faded, and was replaced with a bright red blush as Louise realized Pamela was waiting for her.
âWhat is it?â Pamela asked very softly with a tilt of her head. She recognised the look; Louise always had that look when she felt embarrassed or uncertain. It was her duty as... friend? Maybe more? To reassure her as best she could manage.
