You guys remember Reki talking about his old best friend when he first learnt how to skate right? What if (ahem season two when?) in a potential season two, that said bestfriend returns. The story doesn't specify why Reki and his old best friend aren't friends anymore, just that he stopped skateboarding due to injury. Did his friend move? Did their hobbies start to differ when his OBF (Old Best Friend) just didn't skate anymore? Did Reki's OBF's parent's not like them hanging out anymore after that?

There isn't anything telling us that his OBF can't come back. What'll happen? Will it be a nice reunion. Personally, I think they'd click right back to where things were, maybe having a bit of a rough start, but they'll get back to their old ways.

Now, why would Reki's OBF and his return be relevant to the story? Reki had his character development through experiencing jealousy through his friends, his current best friend, and his thing to do in the whole world. He was insecure about himself because he felt as if he didn't have a name in a place where he's been in for we don't know how long. He was jealous of Langa for surpassing him in such a short time. Reki had his time to be jealous.

Now let me add things up for you. We know that Langa didn't grow up with that many friends, especially close friends. Reki has more friends but they're either adults or way younger than them, with no one else being just around their age.

If Reki's OBF comes back, that'll be yet another close friend for Reki. I think, at first, Langa would be chill with the guy but slowly become jealous. Reki might be hanging out more with his OBF to make up for old time. Langa might feel as if he can't compete with an OBF.

Except, I curious how Langa would show his jealousy. Will it be a gradual jealousy that bursts out in sadness like in episode 7? Will it be a messy passive aggressive approach to push Reki's OBF away? We haven't really seen Langa get upset in an angry manner.

What will the audience learn about Langa's jealousy? Will he over-come it before confronting Reki about how he really feels towards him and his OBF? Will he over-come it after the fact? If he does ever over-come it, does he start a decent friendship or even accept Reki's OBF into a small friendgroup?

Now, let's say this scenario can be a parallel for Joe, Cherry, and Adam. It's not exactly the same, but through a troubling relationship that is going on between three people of similar ages, it could help to show us more of the adult character's stories. Like if Joe ever felt jealous of Cherry at some point and how he dealt with it and how Joe and Adam close to the point where Adam left for America, Joe and Adam maybe got off the wrong foot.
