It's not easy being green 🐸
First on the list is the titular, the amazing, the spring-tastic "Hoppity Hopper":
FROG-MAN
Apearing in Marvel Team-Up #121; Eugene Patilio is the Fabulous Frog-man, a crime fighting amphibian looking to redeem his villainous father's name! Although clumsy, he always finds a way to defeat evil and bring good once again!
Eugene Patilio's father was an inventor who wasn't exactly good at inventing anything. During his childhood years, Eugene's mother alone was able to support the family financially until she passed away to cancer. After her death, Vincent Patilio developed a backpack and coils that could be electromagnetically charged and used to spring- you guessed it, like a frog!
As Eugene's father was financially struggling, he turned to a life of crime to support him and his son; donning the name "Leap-Frog" and becoming a petty criminal. When he was inevitably arrested, Eugene was already old enough to understand the errors of his father's ways. Thus he put on the suit and declared "There's only one way dad's gonna be rid of the leap frog's ghost, and that's if someone uses that name to create a powerful symbol of good!"
-------Appearances-------
Frogman's first adventure was with Spiderman and the Human Torch Vs the White Rabbit in Marvel Team-Up #131
Frogman clumsily defeated the Speed Demon while attempting to help the human torch and spiderman. When he told his father, Vincent was proud of eugene but dismissive of his super-hero antics.
Frogman has been on many adventures since. He's helped Capitan America and attempted to join the Defenders. After that he formed with toad and spider-kid the short-lived Misfits. He then was kidnapped by Aloysha Kravinoff and drugged and hunted for sport by the Kravin along with other animal themed super heroes and villains. Since he was freed from the confines of Kravin by the Punisher, he has done other gigs. Most significant of them is with Gargoyle, Scarlet Spider, Misty Knight when they teamed with Iron man and Hellcat to create the "Space Friends" to defeat the villainous Korvac
Frogman also got an appearance in the MCU! In She-Hulk: Attorney at Law
(I personally don't like the costume all that much, i feel like it takes away from the goofiness and soft nature of frogman)
--------Other Facts--------
He can also do American Sign Language!
And that's a very very basic rundown of one of my favorite super heroes of all time! I hope you appreciate the fantastic fantabulous frantic frogman as I do!
