Masquerade Brawl:
You can tell a lot about a person by whatās in their pockets. You can tell more by whatās in their shoes...
Whatās better for team building exercises? Trust falls and kumbayah or bare-knuckled, no-holds-barred brawling? When itās a rag-tag team of would-be criminals with mysterious motives then itās most certainly the latter.
The Charlatan arranged an exciting little get together out in Southern Thanalan; ditching the straightforward arena method for a variety of landscapes in a small area. Rocks, ridges, desert sand and even a water hazard. The crew was gathered and paired off to blow off a little steam as well as getting to know each other a little better in the common language of thinly veiled aggression.
Aurum and Outlaw squared off, rather than simply standing around posing menacingly at each other they tried their best at first to keep it clean. Unfortunately for them and their codes of honor Felicia and Frey were facing off simultaneously in a battle that quickly devolved into kicks up to Thal, pocket sand andĀ ābreast crimesā. While Frey was eventually taken down with a violent de-shoeing the shenanigans spilled over into the other fight, with said crimes being enough to distract Outlaw into a blushing mess that was taken down by an opportunistic Aurum.
Slick and Knave were up next to take on the winners, having to leave their comfortable makeshift snackbar with Charlatan. Slick went head to head with the boot-bandit Felicia to avenge the fallen Frey, showing her a few tricks of her own with a deadly use of shoe-fu. Meanwhile Aurum had to deal with Knaveās showboating antics and saliva-based tricks. While the fights were fierce, Felicia was too powerful despite sandy cleavage and the questionably-good doctor was taken down. Aurum was eventually forced to yield or risk a loogie being dripped on bare skin.
By that time the day as well as the excess energy had run out, allowing Charlatan to skate by without a round. This time...

"Ah, right. Th'good cat Frey. What a character. We ain't known each other long and run into each other infrequently but I ain't ever had a bad time wit'em. Th'company they keep is about as interestin' as they are but t'describe Frey in any one way would be diminishin' of th'individual overall. They strike me mercurial, capable've a great many things though its up t'you t'guess what those things might be. I couldn't tell ya', an' I think that's somethin' they prefer fer th'most part. Keeps people on their toes, I think. Eccentric though, would be a good start, I reckon." He shrugs, easing his hands over his belt buckle as he considered further.
"They're well liked, quirky, have great taste in fashion. An' carin'. Ain't shore if they mean t'show that side've themselves, but I seen it in how they care fer their lovers, or in th'way they seem...Mmn... Concerned, about individuals in their own lives. I know someone or somethin' been botherin' them lately, or maybe multiple someone's. They always seem t'be talkin' about somebody th'past few times I came across 'em but...I don't listen too hard. Point is, Frey is good people. Full've many complexities that ultimately make an interestin' individual."

A quiet scene with @sola-ffxiv in the Gold Court.
Journal Entry: Grindstone Night
I showed up at The Grindstone as Iād promised the Beaumonts I would. Iād hoped that Elizabeth Crowley (aka Robin Crawford) would have been there, but Iām sure she had better things to do than suffer Edgardās clumsy advances again. I canāt really blame her. It was surprising that out of everyone it was Edmond Beaumont that put in an appearance, to fight in the lineup as promised. He gave a good fight, making it all the way to the Bridge final before a new fighter brought him low.
[ This one is a long one, folks!Ā Buckle up!]Ā

āI think you got enough for the both of us, my dear brother.āĀ
Frey Underbridge.. an interesting soul with a love for both theatrics and knife juggling. While I would never expect myself to be close to one for such habits, I surely wouldnāt have asked for a better person that I can call my brother, for weāre alike in more ways then I thought.

āI think Frey needs a safe space that they can call their own, even if they donāt wish to admit it to themselves. I hope the poor dear finds that one day.ā
