My Anthurium metallicum is a slow grower and by that I mean it hasn’t given me any new leaves ☹️ This is one of the anthuriums I’ve been itching to repot and I’m hoping to find it a better spot for it in the apartment. The leaves on this one are a bit to large to keep in an enclosure for high humidity so I might need to get creative and find a way to get it closer to my humidifiers. It’s hard to balance the prime planty real estate in the apartment with so many needy plants. My Anthurium crystallinum has always been doing just ok. The brown hue of the leaf is normal for new emerging anthurium leaves. It eventually fades to green as the leaf hardens. I was thinking about upgrading my anthuriums medium to include orchid bark and charcoal along with the sphagnum moss. A lot about being a plant parent is experimenting with your plants testing what works and what doesn’t work. In the end some risks are worth taking to find the perfect soil or lighting.
